AN ORDINANCE A~ENDING ORDINANCE NO. 616 NEW SERIES,
BY-ADDING TO ARTICLE 15 THEREOF, A NEW SECTION
NUMBERED 1510, DESIGNATED, GAS SERVICE REGULATION
REGULATING .THE TURNING OFF AND RECONECTING OF GA~
SERVICE.
BE IT ORDAI~ED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BA~GERSFIELD~
as follows:
SECTION 1.
That Ordinance No. 616 New Series, entitled: "AN ORDINANCE
PROVIDING FOR THE PROTECTION OF THE PUBLIC HEALTH; REQUIRING THE
EXAMINATION, REGISTRATION, AND BONDING OF PERSONS ENGAGED IN THE
BUSINESS OF PLU~TBING, OR LABORING AT THE TRADE OF PLU~ING; REQUIRING
A ERNIT FOR THE INSTALLATION, ALTERATION OR REPAIR OF PLUMBING, DRAIN-
AGE, GAS AND DO~ESTIC WATER SYSTEMS; CREATING A' BOARD OF APPEAL AND
PRESCRIBING ITS POWERS AND DUTIES; DEFINING CERTAIN TERMS; ESTABLISHING
NINI~L~ REGULATIONS FOR THE INSTALLATION, ALTERATION OR REPAIR OF
PLUI~BING, DRAINAGE, GAS AND DOMESTIC WATER SYSTENS, AND REQUIRING
THE INSECTION THEREOF; PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATeION PHEREOF
AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH
be and the same is hereby amended by adding to Article l~ thereof,
a new section, known and designated as Section 1510 - "GAS SERVICE.
REGULA~ION", which Shall read as follows:
1510--GAS SERVICE REGULATION.
It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation,
excepting an authorized agent or employee of a person, firm, or corpora-
tion engaged in the business of furnishing or supplying gas and whose
service pipes supply or connect with the 'particular p~emises, to turn
on or reconnect gas service in or on any premises w~here and l.when gas
service is not .at the time being rendered.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was passed and
adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield, at a regular meeting
