SECTION 4. . DUTIES OF POLICE. ~ (a} It shall be the duty of the officers of the police depart- ment to enforce the provisions of this ordinance. {b) Officers'of the p61ice department are hereby authorizedto direct all traffic by voice, hand, whistle, or other visible or ~audible signal. (c) In theevent of fire, or other exigency or emergency, police officers may direct traffic ~t~IConditions may r~i~!e~ not'. THE EkT~F.~IONS TO F~RERGENCYVEHICLES. (a) The provisions of this ordinance regulating the operation, parking, and standing of vehicles shall not be applied to' any authorized emergency vehicle when such vehicle is.operated in the manner specified in the Vehicle Code in response to an emergency call, or while engaged in any public duty which would make obedience to the provisions of this ordinance impracticable. (b) The provisions of this ordinance regulating the parking or standing of vehicles shall not apply to any vehicle of a city depart- ment or public utility while necessarily in use for construction or repair work, or any vehicle owned by the United States while in use for the collection, transportation, or delivery of United States mail. SECTION 8. -- REPORT OF-DAMAGE TO CERTAIDY PROPERTY. SECTION 19. * TE CITY ~KAGER TO ECT STOP SIGNS -- ~enever thee/Traffic Authority designates and describes a~ street orportion thereof as a through street or any intersection to which vehicles are required to stop at. one or more entrances thereto, he is hereby authorized~ and may erect and maintain or cause to be erected. and maintained, stop signs at those entrances of intersections where a stop is re- quired.
