AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF EMER-
GENOY ORDINANCE NO. 341 N~V SERIES OF
CITY OF NSMKERSFIELD, CAT~IFORNIA.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAEFaSFIELD, as
follows:
SECTION 1.
That Section 1 of ~-mergency Ordinance No. 341, New Series of
the City of Bakersfield, entitled "AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CON-
STRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE OF REFRIGERATING PLANTS IN THE CITY OF BAKERS-
FIELD, AND ~RESCRIBING S.AFETY AND SIGNALING APPLIANCES AND DEVICES TO
BE USED IN CONNECTION THEREWITH AND PRESCRIBING A PENALTY FOR TEE VIO-
LATION OF THIS ORDINANCE," be and the same is hereby amended to read
as follows:
Section 1. Except as hereinafter provided in this ordinancet
it shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to install
or operate in the City o.f Bakersfield any plant producing refrigeration
by the means of gases under pressure in connection with cold storage
plants, breweries, ice manufactories, hotels, restaurants or other
places of business, without a permit issued by the Chief of the Fire
Department and such permit shall m~t be issued to ar~V person, firm or
corporation until all the provisions of this ordinance shall have been
complied with.

adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield, at a regular meeting
thereof held on the 16th day of April, 194g, by the following vote:
