balls, the sum of Three Dollars (53,00) per c._uarter,

balls, inclusive, the s~m~ of Gix Dollies (.,6.00) per quarter.

For each iron clay:, crane, or similar machine the sum of Ten
Dollars ('.~lO.O0) per quarter.
It is the in.tent heroin that the license shall stand in the
name of the actual operator.
The application for license shall be in ~riti.~ and on such
forms as are prescribed by the License Collector.
Licenses on machines already issued shall be transferred,
v,'ithout char:To, to the actual operator.
i.!b license shall be granted to license or permit the operation
of a machine or gan~o :'~hich is unla~..~ful under the state lav~ or local
ordinances, or license or pernit t'_,~e operation of a ls.~'jful mac:~ine or
gane in an u_~lavzful manner, o:c permalt t~-~e o.~er~tion of any machine or
game in v.~hich the elenent of c~,mnce -)redominates.
h:o license shall be issued for t:~e operation of any machine
v~hich automatically disc]~arges or p~.ys or is capable of disci~ar::in~.; or
paying counters, slugs, money, c_:~ecks, coupons, and/or tickets, '.;het~mer
in a sealed compartment or not.

Vf any such pin gs..ue, marble or ball ~ame is o.~erated ~rithout
a license, the person, firm, association or corporation condilating
and/or maintaining the sa~.e on -cremises o:~ned or leased shall pay a
penalty of double the mount of ss. id license for every quarter or portion
of any quarter during r:hich said ".mchine is operated v~ithout a license.
If a~, person, firm, association or corporation shall fail
to pay the license tax levied as provided for heroin, ~.rhenever th.e
same is due, or the license tax p~nalty provided heroin, ~.~hen notified
of the same, all licenses issued to him or 'it for pin ga.~:es, ball or
marble ~,ames hereunder, may be revo.'..-"ed by the License Collector. .any
such person~ firm, association o~' corporation dissatisfied ::ith the
revocation of ~.ny license b.'-. the ,.icense Collector, r.~ay, v:ithin a period
of ten (lO) days f~-om such revocc. tion, appeal to the City CoLmail of the
City of ~a%ersfield for a hearing. y, and upon said "learin.~ the decision
of said City Oouncil shall be final.

This ordinance is hereby declared to be an ono~'gency measv~e
v:ithin the meanin:.,~ of oection 24 of the Charter of thn City of i.ml-.ors-
field, Stato of California, and necessary to provide for the daily
operation of a r.~unicipal deps. rtn:ent, and shall te.i:e effect inm~ediately
upon its passage.
