follows:
SECTI0i~ 1.
That Section 2 of Ordinance No. ~9~ New Series of the City of
Bakersfield, be and the see is hereby ~ended to read as follo~s:
Section 2. Every person, except members of the Fire Departr,~ent,
who has held a position in the service of the City of Bakersfield
continuously i'or one year or more imediately preceding a~ illness
or injury, and is compelled to be absent from duty on accost of such
illness or injury, other than injury arising out of or in the copse
of his employment sh~l receive f~l compensation for the time lost
on account of such illness or injury, to the extent of one d~ for
each month of continuous service, but in m case shall cm~ated sick
or injury leave exceed forty-eight worki~ days on f~l pay. In com-
puti~ sick leave time each Saturday included shall be considered
one-half worki~ day.
SECTION 2.
That Section S of Ordinance l~o. ~9~ New Series of the City of
Bakersfield, be a~ the same is hereby mended to read as follov~s:

or more imediately precedi~ a~ illness or injury, and is compelled
to be absent from duty on accomt of such illness or injury, other
than injury arisi~ out of or in the course of his emplo~ent, sh~l
receive f~l compensation for the t~e lost on accomt of such illness
or inj~y, to the extent of seven v~orki~ shifts per year, but in m
case shall c~ated sick or injury leave exceed twenty-eight v~r!~ing
shifts.
