SECTION 1.
That Subdivision 1 of Section 1102 of the Un~form Buildip~
Code, 19~ ~t~on~ as adopted by the ~c~f~c Coast Bu~d~ Of-
f~c~s~ Coherence at the 6th A~ Meeti~ 0ctober~ 1927~ ~th
Revisio~ ~ Addltio~ approved at the 17th .A~ Meeti~ October~
1939~ as ~blished M~ 1, 19~, printl~ of M~, 19~, which was
adopted by Ordi~nce No. 682 New Series of the City of Bakersfield,
C~ifor~a, be a~ the s~e is hereby ~ended to read as follows~

Exit enclosures shall not be used for storage in ar~v manner
whatsoever end shall not contain ar~ material or equ/pment liable
to cause fire, explosion or per, Lc.
At the top of every stairway enclosure a ventilatin~ skylight
with a horizontel area of not less than eight square feet (8 sq. ft.)
shall be installed as specified in Section 3402, or in lieu of such
skylight an equivelent wiD~low oper~r~ glazed with plain glass may
be provided in the penthouse wells. Fixed operants not less then
five hundred square inches (~00 sq. in.) in area sb~ll be provided
at the top of each stairway enclosure for ventilation.
