fare~ which requires the passage of an emergency ordi-na~e relati~
to sewer co~ections made with ';he main s~'~erage system of the
City of Bakersfield, by ~n-rssidents of said City;

&~TION 1.
That Section I of ~ergency Ordi~e No. %78 New Series
of the City of Bakersfield, be and the same is hereby repe~ed.
SECTION 2.
That S~ction 2 of ~ergency Ordi~s.~e No. %78 New Series
of the City of Bakersfield, be z. nd the same is hereby ame~ed to
'read as follows~
Section 2. No person~ firm or corporation ow~ or con-
trolli~ real property situated without the city limits of the City
of Bakersfield, or situated partly ,~ithin and partly without the city
limits of the City of Bakersfield~ shall ~intain a~ private sewer
line or li~s co~ecti~ with a~ private sewer line or lines servi~
property without said city limits~ which private sewer li~ co,cots
with the main sewerage system of the City of $akersfleld, without
first enteri~ into a v~itten agreement with the City of Bakersfield~
on a form approved by the City Engineer, to p~ an annu~ rental to
the City of Bakersfield for said co~ection in accordance with the
rates herei~fter set forth. The rate to be charged for each con-
nection, a~ included in said agreement, sh~l be determi~d by the
City E~ineer upon the survey or inspection of the property.
SECTION 3.
This ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency
ordinance within the meaning of 8action 24 of the Charter of the
City of Bakersfield, 8tare of California~ and necessary for the
immediate preservation of the public safety and welfare, and shall
take effect immediately'upon its passa§e,
