COUNTY OF KERN~ STATE OF CALIFORNI&.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD,
as' follows:
SECTION 1.
The Council of the City of Bakersfield hereby grants to the
.Atchison~ Topeka and Santa Fe Railway Company, a corporation, organ-
ized and incorporated under the laws of the State of Kansas, its
successors and assigns, a permit to lay down, construct, maintain
and operate a railroad track of standard gauge in l~th and H Streets,
located in the City of Bakersfield~ County of Xern~ State. of California.
The center line of said track in the proposed location is described
as follows~ to wit:
Center line of track described as commencing at a
point on the center line of Track No. 20 lying in
l~th Street and 8~ feet west and 13 2~ feet north
of the northeast corner of Block Nol ~6 City of
Bakersfield; thence.easterly 166.0 feet to a point
in the east boundary line of "H" Street ~.7~ feet
south of the northwest corner of Block No. 3~ City
of Bakersfield.
SECTION 2.
That said permit and privilege is granted subject:
(a) To such regulations and conditions as may be prescribed
from time to time by the Council of the City of Bakersfield.
(b) To the use of said railroad track for the transportation
of freight for hire.
(c) That said railroad track must be laid to conform to the
grade of th~ s~reet over which it passes~ and the work must.be done
to the satisfaction of the City Engineer of the City of Bakersfield
and must be kept and maintained in good condition and repair to the
satisfaction of said City Engineer.
(d) That it must be operated under such restrictions as
not to interfere with the use of said street by the public.
(e) That this permit shall be revocable at the pleasure of
the City Council of the City of Bakersfield~ and
(f) To the provisions of the Charter of the City of Bakers-
field.

I HER. EBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield~ at~'a regular
meeting thereof~ held on the 9th day of December, 1956, by the
following vote:
