No person sh~l fire or Eischarge a~ g~ rlfle~ pistol or
firearm of a~ ~ within the city l~lts of the City of Bakers-
field~ ~tate of Oalifornia~ without a permit as provl~e~ for in
this oral~nce.
8~TION 2.
The Chief of ~lice m~ grant a permit to discharge a g~
within the city l~its for the purpose of eliml~ting pests or for
a~ other sl~lar p~pose.
S~TION 3.
This ordl~nce s~l ~t be construed to prohibit the use of
firearms by a peace officer or other authorized ~erson in the dis-
charge of his lawf~ duties.
S~TION 4,
A~ person vlolatl~ a~ of the provlsio~ of this ordl~nce
shall be guilty of a misdeme~or~ and upon conviction thereof sh~l
be p~shed by a fin~ ~t exceedl~ Five H~red Dollars ($~00.OO)
or by lmpriso~ent in the County Jail for a period ~t exceedin~
six (6) months~ or by ~th such fi~ a~ impriso~ent.
