AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR AD-
DITIONAL COMPENSATION FOR OFFICERS AND
EMPLOYEES OF TH~ CITY OF BAKERSFI~.D.
WHEREAS, the City Council hereby declares that an emergency
exists making it necessary to provide for the daily oper. ation of
municipal departments.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFI~m.D, as follows~
SECTION 1.
Each officer and emp%.oyee of the City of Bakersfield, as set
forth and enumerated in Section 1 of Emergency Ordinance No..700 New
Series, as amended by Emergency Ordinance No. 718 New Series, shall
receive a~ be paid out of the Treasury of the City of Bakersfield,
an additional compensation of ~O ~-~ Dollars ($~O~) per
month for performing the duties of the office, offices or employment
named therein, to which he or she is or may be appointed or employed,
to be paid to such officers and employees comencing June 1, 1947., and
ending midr~ight December 31, 1947, said compensation .~o be in addition
to the compensation provided for by the wage rate set forth in said
Emergency-Ordinance No. 700 New Series as amended by Emergency Ordlm~unce
No. 718 New Series, and in addition to the additional compensation pro-
vided' for in Emergency Ordinance No. 728 New Series.
SECTION 2.
Each employee of the City of Bakersfield worki~ under the
classifications named in ~ectlon 2 of Emergenc.y Ordinance No. 700 New
Series, shall receive as compensation for performing the work of his
or her position or employment to which he or she is appointed, ad-
ditional..compensation ..of ,~'~.~_~ ~ cents (~ · ~) p. er hour for each
hour worked, to be paid to such employees beginning ~une 1, 1947, .and
ending midnight December 31, 1947, said compensation to be in addition
to the compensation provided for by the regular hourly wage rate set

forth in Section 2 of Emergency Ordinance No. ?00 New Series, and in
addition to the additional compensation provided for in Emer§ency
Ordinance No. ?28 New Series.
SECTION 3.
This Ordinance is hereby declared 'to be an emergency ordinance
within the'meaning, of Section 24 of the Charter .of the City of Bakers-
fi~ld~'State of California, and necessary to provide'for the daily
operation of municipal departments, and shall be effective on and after
June 1, 1947, until midnight December 31, 1947.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Emergency Ordinance was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield, at a
· regular meeting thereof held on the _~day of ~_~., 1947,
