AN ORDINANCE APPROVING ANNEXATION OF A
PARC~.. OF UNINHABITED TERRITORY TO THE
CITY OF ~SFIELD, CALIFORNIA.
WHERE&5, a petition was filed with the Council of the
City of Bakersfield on the l~th day of September, 1947, request-.
ing that certain uninhabited territory therein described be annexed
and included within the incorporated limits of the City of Bakers-
field, and
WHEEE&S, said petition was signed by the owners of not
less than one-fourth (1/4) of the area of the land in such territory,
and representing not less than one-fourth (1/4) of the assessed
value of such territory according to the last preceding equalized
assessment roll of the County of Ke~n; and
WHF/tEA~, the Council of the City of Bakersfield did on the
29th day of September, 1947, pass a resolution in compliance with
the provisions of the An~xation of Uninhabited Territory Act of
1939, Statutes of 1'939, Chapter 297, as amended, specifically
describing the boundaries of the territory so proposed to be annexed
to the ·City of Bakersfield, and designating such territory by an
appropriate identification, and setting Monday, the 20th day of.
October, 1947, at the hour of .8 o 'clock P.E., at the Council ObmJnbers
in the City Hall in the City of Bakersfield, State of California, as
the day, hour and place when aDJ~ where any person owning'real property
within such territory so proposed to be annexed and having any
obJ'eetions to the proposed anne~tion may appear before the legislative
body and show cause why such territory should not be so annexed; and
~S, said resolution was published for at least once a
week for two successive weeks prior to said hearing in the Bakersfield
Californ~an, a newspaper of general circulation published in the City
of Bakersfield, the municipal corporation to which it is proposed to

SECTION 1
That the Council of the City of Bakersfield b~reby approves
the anne~mtion and inclusion wltb/n the incorporated limits of the
City of Bakersfield, of that 'certain un~nhabited territory designated
as a parcel 'of land 100 feet in width aD~t 1~0 feet In length parcllel
w~th and 120 feet southwesterly of the southwest line of Thel~a Drive,
being more fully described
A parcel of land contiguous to Tract No.
Book ~ of Maps, pages 192, 193 and 194, Records of Kern County,
Califorr~a, which parcet of land Is described as .follows:
Beginning at the point of intersection of the westerly
line of Thelma D~ive and the center liD~ of Magnolia Street
as per said Tract No. 12~8 and ~unn~ng thence South ko 3~~
west a distance of 1~Oo00 feet to the true point .of beglnr~ng~
. thence South ~1o 3~" west along the prolo~ation of the center
line of the aforementioned Magnolia street lOO.OO feet; thence
'North 38o ~0~ 40" west a distance of 1~Oo00 feet to the southerly
line of the alley s~tuated parallel with and southerly of Irene
