~~ a petition was filed w~th the Council of the City
of Baker~field on the 4th day of August., 1947, requestin~ that
certain uninhabited territory therein described-be annexed and
included within'.~h~ incorporated limits of the City of Bakersfield, and ,
WI~tEA~ said petition was signed by the owners of not less
than one-fourth (1/4) of the area of the land In such territory, and
representir~ not less than one-fourth (1/4) of the assessed value of
such territory accordiD~ to the last precedin~ equalized assessment
roll of the County of Kern; and
Wt~_A~ the Council of the City of Bakersfield did on the
llth day of August, .1947, pass a resolution in compliance with the
provisions of the Annexation of Ur~nhabited Territory Act of 1939,
Statutes of 1939, Chapter 29?,. as amended, specifically describinE
the boundaries of the territory so proposed.to be annexed to the City
of Bakersfield~ and designatin~ such territory by an appropriate
ldentificat~on~ and settin~ Tuesday~ the 2nd day of September, 1947,
at the hour of 8 o tclock P.E., at the Council Chambers in the City
Hall in the City of Bakersfield~ State of Californ~a, as the day, hour
and place when and where aW person owr~n~ real property within such
territory so proposed to be anD~xed and havi.~, an~ objections to the
proposed anp~xation may .appear before the legislative body and show
cause wh~ such territ.o..ry should not be so annexed; and
~, said. resolution was published for at least once a
. week for two Successive weeks-prior to .sa.id hear~n~ in the Bakersfield
Callforn~an~ a newspaper of general circulation published in the City
of Bakersfield~ the municipal 'corporation to which it is proposed to
annex such territory;-and
WHEBEAS, no written protests were' f~led against the proposed ·
an~tion bY an~ owner of property w~thln the territory proposed
to be annexed.
.' NOW~ THEREFORE~ BE IT O~DAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD, as follows8 '
SECTION 1 o
That the Council of the City of Bakersfield hereby approves
the an~xation _~_,__~ inclusion withtn the incorporated l~m~ts of the
City of Bakersfield, of that certain uninhabited territory designated
as a parcel of land 1~0 feet by 120 feet lyln~ southwesterly of the
southwesterly line of Thelm~ Driv. e and bounded on the north by '
I~e~ Street, bein~ more specifically described as follows8
A parcel of land contiguous to Tract No. 12~8 as shown
in Book ~ of Maps. pages 192;-193 and 194, Records of
Kern County, Californ~a, which parcel of land is described
as follows I
Beginn~n~ at' the point of intersection' of the westerly
line of Thelma Drive and the center line of Magnolia Street
as per said Tract No. 12~8 and run~h~ thence North 38o
40~ West alon~ the westerly line of Thelma Drive and its
prolongation a distance of 1~O°00 feet to the southerly
line of the elley situated parallel with and southerly of
Ire~ Street~ thence South ~1o 3~t O0# West alon~ the
Southerly line of said alIey 120.~0 feet; thence South
38° ~0~ 40~ East 1~0.00 feet; thence North
East 120 feet to the point of beginn~n~o
