WHEREAS, the City Council declares that an emergency exists
making it necessary to provide for the daily operation of a munici-
pal department.
NOW, THEREFORE, -BE IT ORDAINED BY T~E COUNCIL OF T~E CITY
OF BAKERSFIELD, as follows~
SECTION 1.
Subdivision 21 of Section 1 of Emergency Ordinance No. 700
New Series, of the City of Bakersfield, is hereby amended to read
as follows ~

SECTION 2.
In addition.to the compensation provided in Section 1 hereof,·
said Office Engineer shall receive the compensation provided in
Emergency Ordinance No. 728 New Series a~l Ordinance No. 7.63 New Series
of the City of Bakersfield.
SECTION 3-
This ordinance is hereby, declared to be an emergency measure
within the meaning of Section 24 of the Charter of the City of Bakers-
field, State of California, and necessary for the daily operation of
a municipal department, am~ shall be effective April %~ 1948.
Z BEREBY CERTTF¥ that the foregoi~ Emergency Ordinance was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a
regular meeting thereof held on the 12th day-of April, 1948, by the
