CITY OF BAkerSFIELD, CALIFORNIA.
V~JtEAS, the Council of the City of Bakersfield, did, on
the 21st day of June, 1948, pass a resolution in compliance with
the provisions of the .Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of
1939, Statutes ~f 1939, Chapter 297, as amended, givi~ notice
of the intention of said Council to annex certain uninhabited
territory therein described to the City of Bakersfield~ and to
incorporate and include said territory within the incorporated
limits of said City, and
WHEREAS, said resolution specifically described the bound-
aries of the territory so proposed to be annexed to the City of
Bakersfield, and designated such territory by an appropriate
identification~ and set forth the reasons of said Council for
desiring to annex said territory to the City of Bakersfield, and
WHEREAS, Monday, July 12, 1948, at the hour of 8 o'clock P.M.,
at the Council Chambers in the City Hall in the City of Bakersfield~
State of California~ was set forth in said resolution as the day,
hour and place when and where any person owning real property within
such territory so proposed to be annexed and having any objections
to the proposed annexation might appear before the legislative body
and show cause why such territory should not be so annexed, and
WHE~REAS~ said resolution was published for at least once a
week for two successive weeks prior to said hearing in the Bakers-
Californian, a newspaper of general circulation published in the
City of Bakersfield, the municipal corporation to which it is pro-
posed to annex such territory, and
~HEREAS, no v~itten 'protests were filed against the proposed
annexation by any owner of property within the territory proposed

to be annexed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAIiiED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
B.&w~.RSFIESD, as follows:
SECTION 1 .'
That the Council of the City of Bakersfield hereby approves
the annexation and inclusion within the incorporated limits of the
City of Bakersfield, of that certain uninhabited territory designated
as: .A part of Ardizzi-Olcese Company .Annex to Kern City in the County
of Kern, State of California, as per map of same recorded July 16,
1907, in Map Book No. 1, Page 102, the major portion of which parcel
lies in the northerly part of Lot 25 in said .Annex, which said parcel
is bounded on the east by .Alta Vista Drive, on the south by a pro-
posed extension of Magnolia Street, on the west by Tract No. 12%8,
and on the north by Tract No~ ~1.73, being specifically described as:
·That portion of territory in the ~# 1/¢ of Sec. 20,
T. 29 S., R. 28 E., M. D. B. & M., that is bounded on
the north by a portion of the southerly boundary of
Tract No. 1173 as said Tract is recorded in Map Book
No. %, Page. 79 of the Official Records of Kern C~ounty,
California, on the .east by .Alta Vista Drive of ~O feet
width (formerly Thelma Drive); on the south by the
center line of proposed westerly extension of Magm~lia
Street of Tract No. 12%8; on the West b_y a portion of
the easterly boundary of Tract Ilo. 12%8 as said Tract
is recorded in Map Book No. %, Page 192 of the Official
Records of Kern County, California, said easterly
boundary being also a portion of the easterly corporate
limits of the City of Bakersfield, California, and is
more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the southeasterly corner of Tract No.
1173 as same is recorded in Map Book No. %, Page 79
of the Official Records of Kern County, California,
said corner being on the westerly line of .Alta Vista
Drive, as it is shown on said Tract, of 80 feet width
and on a curve of 960 feet radius whose radial center
bears North 87° 12' 28" west a distance of 960 feet
from said corner; thence southerly along said curve -
same being, the westerly line of said Drive - a distance
of 161.51 feet to its point of intersection with the
center line of a propgsed street, whence said radius

CaliTornia~ and to the northeasterly boundary of said
Tract No. 1258 and to a~portion of the northeasterly
corporate limits of the City of Bakersf. ield~ California;
thence along said corporate limits and Tract boundary
North 38° 25' 00" West a distance of 160 feet to a
point on the southerly boundary of said Tract No. 1173;
thence along said southerly boundary North 51° 3%' 00"
East a distance of 19%.24 feet; thence along said
southerly boundary North 75° 30' 0%.3" East a distance
of 169.42 feet; thence along said southe, rly boundary
South 89° %0' 40" East a distance eT 136.42 feet; thence
along said southerly boundary South 87° 12' 28" East a
distance of 3.00 feet to the point of beginning; contain-
ing le262 acres of land more or less.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a
regular meeting thereof held on the 12th day of July, 19¢8, by
the following vote:
