as follows:
SECTION 1,
That' Ordinance No. 616 New Series of the City of Bakersfield
be and the same is hereby amended by adding thereto a new section
to be n~mbered 120.1, said section to read as follows:
Section 120.1. I~nstsilation.o__f Evaporative Coolers. The
requirements of a plumber ts certificate of competency from the City
Building InsPector and the filing of a plumber's bond as a condition
precedent to the issuance of a permit, as provided in Sections 11%
and 120 hereof~ shall prat be applicable to the installation, or
replacement of evaporative coolers powered by motors of one-half
horse Power or less. This section shall not be construed so as to
exempt any person, firm or corporation who' lnstslls or replaces
such coolers from the requirement' of first securing a permit as
provided in this ordinance,or from the requirement, of obtaining any
other certificate of competency which may be required by the pro-
visions of any other, ordinance of the City of Bakersfield.
