OF THE· POLICE JUDGE OF THE CITY OF B.AI~RS-
FI.~D, C.~L IFORNIA.
V~RE.As, the Police Judge of the City of Bakersfield~ because
of constitutional restrictions against· increasing his salary during
his term of officer has not participated in recent general salary
increases which have been granted to other officers and employees
of the ci.ty, and
WHEREAS~ the next term of office of the Police Judge of the
City of Bakersfield commences September l~ 1959~ and any ordinance
~·.-ihcreasing his compensation must be effective on or before that
dat. e ,..and
WHERE&S~ the Council hereby finds and determines that an emerg-
ency exists making it necessary to provide for the daily operation
of a municipal department, o
NOW~ THEREFORE~ BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
B. AIfERSFIEr. D, as follows:
SECTION '1.
That commencing September !~ 1949, the salary of the Police
Judge is hereby fixed at Four Hundred and Thirty Dollars ($430.00)
per month.
SECTION 2.
This ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure
within the meaning of Section 24 of the Charter of the City of Bakers-
fie!d~ California~ and necessary for the daily operation of a municipal
departme_nt~ and shall be effective immediately upon its passage.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Emergency Ordinance was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at
a regular meeting thereof held on the 29th day. of .&ugust, 19~9~
