AN EMERGENCY 'oRDINANCE .AMENDING SUBSECTION
(a) OF SECTION 9 OF EMERGENCY ORDINANCE
NO. ?94 .NEW~. SERIES OF THE CITY 0F BAEERSFIE~D.
WHEREAS, c'ertain personnel problem's have arisen suddenly
in connection with the position of City Clerk and Auditor which
make it necessary that immediate provision be made for fixing
the salaries of such positions, both when such positions are
occupied by different persons and when they are occupied by the
same person, and in such Connection the City Council hereby finds
and determines that an emergency exists making it necessary to
provide for the daily operation of a municipal department.
NOW~ TF~.wJ~ORE~ BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield, as follows:
SENTI0 N 1.
That Subsection (a) of Section 9 of Emergency Ordinance
No. ?94 New Series of the City of Bakersfield~ be and the same is
hereby amended by adding thereto a new classification~ with its
correspondim~g salary schedule number, to read as follows:
31 City Clerk & Auditor (when.~ positions occupied
by same person)
SECT I0 N 2
This ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency 'measure
within the meaning of Section 24 of the Charter of the City of
Bakersfield~ State of California~ and necessary .to provide for the
daily operation of a municipal department~ 'and shall be effective
on and after December 29~

at an adjourned meeting thereof held on the 30th day of Decem. ber~
