NANCE NO. 218 NEW SERIES OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
SECTION 1.
Subsection (d) of Section i of Ordinance No. gl8 New Series
is hereby amended to read as follows:
(d) For the purpose of this ordinance a "Junk dealer" is
defined to be any person, firm or corporation, having a fixed place
of business in the City of Bakersfield, who carries on, conducts,
maintains or engages in the business of buying, selling, or other-
wise dealing in or acquiring, old bottles, scraps, pieces of metal,
rags, old rope or any old or used article ' not to be used in its
foz-~-~er state or condition.
SECTION 2.
Subsection (e) of Section 1 of Ordinance No. 218 New Series
is hereby amended to read as follows:
(e) -For the purpose of this ordinance a "Junk collector" is
defined to be any person, firm or corporation~ not having a fixed
place of business in the City of Bakersfield, who goes from house
to house, or from. place to place, gathering, collecting, buying,
selling, or otherwise dealing in or acquiring any old bottles, scraps,
pieces of metal, rags, old rope, or any old or used article not to
be used in its .former state or condition.
SECTION 3.
Section 1 of Ordinance No. 2_18 New Series is herebY'amended
by. adding a new subsection, to be n~mbered (f), to read as follows:
(f) No person, firm or corporation shall be deemed or con-

sidereal a Junk dealer or Junk collector within the meaning of this
ordinance solely by reason of buying and/or selling any of the
.articles mentioned in subsections (d) and (e) hereof from or to a
Junk dealer as hereinabove defined.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was passed and
· adopted by the council of the city of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the ~ day of October, 1951, by the
following vote:
