HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD NO 937 ORDINANCE NO. ~5 7 NEW SERIES. AN ORDINANCE AMENDING 'SECTION ~ 0F ORDI- NANCE.N0. 930 NEW SERIES OF ~ CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, CALIFOHN IA. WHEREAS, this Council did, on the 5th day of November, 1951, pass and adopt Ordinance No. 930 New Series, granting to the Southern Pacific Company, its successors and assigns a franchise to maintain and operate two railroad trac".ks across 24th Street near R Street in the City of Bakersfield, and WHEREAS, it has now been found that an error was made. in the naming of the state under the laws of which said Southern Pacific Company was incorporated and this Council has determined that it is advisable to correct said error by the passage of this ordinance. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as follows: SECTION 1. That Seetion 1 of Ordinance No. 930 New Series of the City of Bakersfield, be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 1. The Council of the Ci'ty of Bakersfield hereby grants to the Southern Pacific Company, a corporation organized and incorporated under the laws of the State of Delaware, its successors and assigns, a franchise to maintain and operate two railroad tracks of standard gauge now crossing 2~th Street in said City, at the locations hereinafter described, for a term of twenty-five (25) years, commencing on the effective date of the original Ordinance No. 9.30 New Serie s. Track "A" Across 24th Street ................ ~Be-ginn~ng at a point in the' Street, distant easterly thereon 98.25 feet from the easterly line of "R" Street as said streets are shown on map entitled "Sales Map of Kern County Land Company, showing Subdivisions of its additions to the City of Bakersfield, Kern County, California," filed April 19, 1904, in the Office of the County Recorder of Kern C'ounty; thence southerly, at r'ight, angles to said north- lo erly line of 24th Street, a distance of- 82.5 feet to a point in the southerly line of 24th Street, distant easterly thereon 98.25 feet from the easterly line of "R" Street. Track "B" Across 24th Street A second track parallel to and 13 feet westerly,' measured at right angles from the above described center li~. I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular meeting thereof held on the llth day of February, 1952, by the following vote: City-Clerk and' Ex-Officio Clerk of the Council of the City of Bakersfield. this.
