BE IT ORDAINED BY THE 00UNOIL OF TBE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, as follows: SECTION 1. That Section 54 of Ordinance No. 815 New Series of the City of Bakersfield be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 54. On or before the fifteenth day of October of each year, the Tax Collector must publish a notice specifying: 1. That one-half the taxes on personal property secured by real property and one-half of the taxes on all real property will be due on the first day of November, and will be delinquent on the tenth day of December next thereafter, at five otclock P.M., and that unless paid prior thereto a penalty equal to six percent of the tax will be added to the amount thereof; that the remaining one-half of the tax~s on all personal property secured by real property' and on all real property will be payable on and after the twentieth day of January next, and will be delinquent on the twentieth day of April next thereafter, at five o~clock P.M., and that unless paid prior thereto a penalty equal to six percent of the tax will be added to the amount thereof. 2. That all taxes may be paid at the time the first install- ment, as herein provided, is due and payable. 3. The time and .places at ~hich payment of taxes may be made, may be set by the Tax Collector in advance of the due date. SECTION 2. That Section 62 of 0rdtnance No. 815 New Series of the City . of Bakersfield be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:· · Section 62. On the tenth day of December of each year, at five o,clock P.M., all taxes then unpaid, except the last install- ment of taxes on personal property secured by real property, and the last installment of real property taxes, are delinquent, and thereafter the Tax Collector must collect for the use of the City an additional six percent thereon. On the twentieth day of April of each year, at five o,clock P.M., th~ remaining one-half of the taxes on all personal property secured by real property, and on real property, ame delinquent, and thereafter the Tax Collector must collect for the use of the City, an additional six percent thereon; provided, that the entire taxes on such personal property and real property-may be paid at the time the first installment, as above provided, is due and payable; and provided, fumther, that the tax~s on all personal property unsecured by real property shall be due and payable imnedia~ely after the assessment of said personal property is made. SECTTON That Section 63 of .Ordinance No. 815 New Series of the City of Bakersfield be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 63. On or before the third day of January of each year, the Tax Collector must attend at the office of the Auditor with the assessment book or roll, having all. items of taxes col- lected marked "paid." The Auditor shall thereupon compute and enter against all the items of taxes due and unpaid the ·penalty for delinquency, foot up the total amount of penalties then due, and ..... _mus_.t.. ·within .te.n. days thereafter, deliver .to said Tax Collector the assessment book or roll and cha~ge him with the amount of said penalties. In computing delinquent penalties, redemption penalties or interest, fractions of a cent shall be rejected. SECTION 4. That Section 72 of Ordinance No. 815 New Series of the City cf Bakersfield be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: section 72. The Tax Collector must collect for the City in addition to the taxes due on the delinquent list, together with the penalties for delinquency, One Dollar ($1.'00) on each lot, piece, or tract of land separately assessed. SECTION· 5- That Ordinance No. 889 New Series of the City of .Bakersfield be and the same is hereby expressly repealed. ...... 000 ......
