AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 19 OF
ORDINANCE NO. 703 NEW'SERIES AND RE-
PEALING ORDINANCES 793 NEW SERIES AND
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF TP~E CiTY OF BAKERSFIELD,
as follows:
SECTION 1 ·
That Section 19 of ·Ordinance No. 703 New· Series of the City
of Bakersfield be and the same is hereby amended to read as fol-
lows:
Section 19. RATES FOR TAXICAB SERVICE. Th~ rates or fares
to be charged the public by taxicab carriers, shall be as follows:
(a) Thirty-five ~ents (35~) for the first one-third (1/3)
mile or flag drop; Ten Cents (10~) for each additional one-third
(1/3) mile, or fraction thereof. The waiting time rate shall be
Three Dollars ($3.00) per hour, or Fifteen Cents (15~) for each
three (3) minute s.
(b) There shall be no charge made for extra passengers.
(c) 'There shall be no extra charge for hand luggage.
(d) The above rates shell apply to any area within fi~e
miles from any exterior boundary of the city of Bakersfield.i
(e) Nothing in this section shall be construed to prohibit
the issuance by any carrier, of scrip, tokens or other evidence
of advance paymen~ for trips valued at Five Dollars ($5.00) or
more in accordance with the above rates, at a discount not
exceed ten per cent (10%~).

That Ordinances No. 793 New Series and 8~I1! New Series ~of
the City of Bakersfield, be and the same are hereby repealed.'.

and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regula~
meeting thereof held on the 9th day of June, 1952, by the following
