BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as follows: SECTION 1. That Section 47 of Ordinance No. 658 New Series be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 47. SIGNS OR OTHER MARKINGS TO INDICATE NO STOPPING AND PARKING REGULATIONS. (a) The City Manager is hereby authorized, subject to the provisions and limitations of this ordinance to place, and when required herein shall place, the following signs, or curb markings, or other devices to indicate parking or standing regulations, and said signs, or curb markings or other devices shall have the m~anings as herein set forth: 1. Red shall mean no stopping, standing or parking at any time; except that a bus may stop in a red zone marked or signed as a bus zone, and police vehicles may stop in red zones marked or signed Police Zone. 2. 'Yellow shall mean no stopping, standing or parking at any time between 7:00 A.M. and 6:00 P.M., of any day except Sunday'for any purpose other than the loading or unloading of passengers or materials, provided that the loading or unloading of passengers shall not consume more than three (3) minutes nor the loading or unloading _ of mater~._a!_.s., more than_twenty (20) minutes,, except that no vehicle other than taxis, shall ~ark at any time in a yellow zom~ marked "Taxis Only." 3. White shall mean no stopping, standing or parking for l$ any purpose other than loading or unloading of passengers which shall not exceed three (3) minutes and such restrictions shall apply between 7:00 A.M. and 6:00 P.M., of any day except Sunday and except as follows: When such zone is in front of a hotel the restrictions shall apply at all time s; When such zone is in front of a th~..ater the restrictions shall apply at all times except when such theater is closed. $. Green shall mean no standing or parking for longer than the time indicated by appropriate signs, curb markings or other devices, which time shall not exceed thirty-six minutes. The restrictions which apply to green time limit parking zones shall apply between 8:00 A.M. and 6:00 P.M., of any day except Sundays and holidays unless there is legibly stenciled appropriate lettering on the signs, curb or other devices to indicate that parking restrictions ar~ effective for a longer period. (b) When the City Manager, as 'authorized under this ordinance, has caused signs, or curb markings or other devices to be placed, no person shall stop, stand or park a vehicle adjacent to any such legible signs, or curb markings or other devices in violation of any of the provisions of this section; (c) Each such period of time or fraction thereof a vehicle is parked in excess of the maximum time limit specified on said signs, curb markings or other devices, shall constitute a separate violation, however, any violation, occurring within a period in excess of the maximum time prescribed, ·shall constitute but one violation during each prescribed period of time. SECTION 2. That Section 57 of Ordinance No. 658 New Series, be and the sa~ is hereby amended to read as follows: ............... '57~' LIMITED PARKING. When authorized~ signs are in place giving notice thereof, no person shall stop;' sta~ d or park any vehicle upon any street or alley for a period of time longer than specified on said signs. Each such period of time or fraction thereof a vehicle 2. is ps~ked in excess of the maximum time limit specified on said signs, shall constitute a separate violation, however, any violation, occv~ring within a period in excess of the maximum time prescribed, shall consti- tute but one violation during each prescribed period of time. SECTION 3 · That Sections 2 and 3 of Emergency Ordinance No. 689 New Series be and the s~me a~e hereby repealed. SECTION 4. That Section 2 of Ordin~ce No. 827 New Series be and the same is hereby repealed. SECTION 5. · This ordinance shall become effective thirty days from and a£ter the date of its passage. ......
