ORDINANCE NO. 1045 -JEW SERIES
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 8 OF ORDI-
NANCE NO. 944, NEW SERIES OF THE CITY OF
BAKER'SFIELD, BY ADDING THERETO ANEW SUB-
DIVISION TO BE DESIGNATED ( d) ,- PROVIDING
CERTAIN EXEMPTIONS FOR HANDICAPPED PERSONS.
BE,IT- ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF .THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD,
as follows: ..
SECTION 1.
That .Section 8 of Ordinance No,' 944j New Series of .the City:
of Bakersfield,be and the- same -is hereby- amended by adding thereto'
a new-8:ubdivision- to be' designated as (d)•, which said subdivision
shall read as follows:
.(d). 1. Nothwithstanding any .other provision of thie ordinance,
whenever a porson' is physically disabled by' reason -of infirmity
which prevents such person from walking, or- which causes great.
discomfort -oz- unusual hardship .to such'-pers.on when walking; and :. r
such person operates a motor vehi'c-le,, such person• shall be entitled
to park such vehicle free of. charge for a period of time not' to
exceed twice -the period of time 'designated on the parking meter
adjacent to the space occupied. by said vehicle.
2. Such disabled person so ermitted to `P p park his vehicle as
herein set Earth, shall possess a card, to be exhibited when re-
queste'd by any peace officer, which said card shall have been issued
by the -Chief of Police, certifying that such disabled person meets
the requirements of this. paragraph snd identifying the vehicle
3. Such vehicle shall bear a small but conspicuous sticker
indicating the. right to park as in this subdivision provided, the
