STATE CONSOLIDATED DIRECT PRIMARY ELECTION. .
AND PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION- TO BE HELD ON. .
JUNE 59 1956s AND. REQUESTING THE BOARD OF
- SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY "OF KERN TO ORDER
THE CONSOLIDATION OF SAID 'ELECTIONS.
BE IT ORDAINED by -the Council of the City-'of Bakers-
field, that a. special municipal election.will be held on Tuesday,
June 5;.:1956, in the City of. Bakersfield, for the purpose of elect-
ing a mayor Por' said City;' that said" special" municipal election -be
and. the same is hereby ordered. to be consolidated with .the" State
Consolidated Direct Primary Election and-•Presidential" Primary Elec-
'tion- to "be ,held on' June 5, 1956, and the Board of Supervisors of
the County, of Kern is hereby requested to-order-such consolidation
in accordance with. the provisions of this- "_ordfnance�; that for the.
purpose. of said special municipal election, the precincts, polling
place's,..' and officers of election within the City of Bakersfield shall
be the some as those provided for -said State Consolidated Direct ..
Primary Election -and Presidential Prima
ry "Election as .more particularly
set -.forth in the notice of election" filed .and published or'- to be filed
and .published by the County Clerk .of 'the. County of Kern; State of .
California, giving notice of said election. The. _Board of Supervisors
of the County of Kern is hereby authorized to canvass the returns
. . of said special.,municipal' election, and- shall -certify the result of
the- canvass .of'-"said returns to . the Council of the City of Bakers.-
field,- who shall.. thereupon .declare' .the •re'sults thereof. '
