BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield, as
followss
SECTION 1.
• Section. 2' of Ordinance No. 723, New' Series of the City of Bakers-
. field, is hereby amended to read as 'follows:
: $egtion 2. (a) There,'is .hereby creited :a Board of Charity',
.8olicitations-, which shall consist. -of seven (7)' •ci'tizehs•-of .the City.
of:' Bakersfield' appointed' by the Council. The.,members. of:. this Board
shall' serve without remuneration ,and shall elect•'its:•.own .of€ic.ers'..
The..-functions of this Board shall be to administer�pr-ovisi0. s :of' this.
ordinance.. : The Board shall receive' all' applications;: statements,
investigatiorLs, credentials,• notices, requests and reports filed
pursuant to' the provisions of. this ordinance. The Board•shall -further
.-prepare:-proper .forms for the administration of this ordinance,. which
shall,.ber :printed 'by the Council.. The Board shall report'. to the Council
any. violations :of this ordinance that come to the• knowledge , of. the.
:Bo:ard;. and it':shall make. such 'other. recommendations- as it shall .deem
,;proper to the :administration 'and• enforcement. of:: this ordinance.'
(b)'-: . Upon the effective date- of this amendment: - .the Council of
• .the '.City.:of 'Bakersfield shall designate four members of said Board
who :'shall. act as such members for a'period' of four years, two members
