AN ORDIN..~.~CE APPROVING ANNEXATION OF A PARCEL OF ~NIN-
HABITED TERRITORY TO T}[E CITY OF P-AKERSFIELD~ CALIFORNIA,
AND PROVIDING FOR T;IE TAXATY0N OF S^ID TERRITORY'TO PAY
THE BONDF. D INDEPTEDNESS OF SAID CITY.
WNEREAS, a petition was filed with the Council Of the City of
Bakersfield on the 3rd day of August~ 1956, requesting that certain
inhabited territo_,,y therein described be aunexed to and included ~ithin
the incorporated limits of the City of Bakersfteld~ and
~tEREAS, .~aid petition was signed by the owners of one-fourth of
the land, by area~ and by assessed value as shown on the last equalized
assessment roll of the County of Kern~ and
WHEREAS, the territor~y described in said petition is contiguous to
the ~ity of Bakersfield, and
W;~REAS~ the said te~rito.~y does not form a pa~t of any other city,
and
W~REAS, on the l~th day of August, 1956, there was filed in the
office of the? City Clerk of the City of ~akersfield~ a written consent~
signed by all the owners of property inclu¢~ed in said territory, that said
territory be subjected to taxation after the completion of such annexation
.equ~ly with property in the City of Bakersfield to pay the bonded indebted~
ness of said City therein described, as provided fo~ in Ordinance Nco 893.~
New Series of the City of B. akersfield, and in Ordinance No. 950, New Series
of the City of Pal,~rsfield, and any and all other indebtedness or liability
of the City which may accrue from and after the date thereof, and this
Council hereby determines that said consent is signed by all the owners
of property included in said territory, and complies in every respect
with the provision.,~ of Section 35319 of the Government Code of the Etate of

WHEREAS, said Resolution was published at least twice, but not

Oildale News, a newspaper of general, circ-.~latio, n published outside of the
City of BakePsfield, bu'$ in the county where said terl, itory is lo~
said publicati'ons having been completed at least t~-enty 'daYs prior to the
date set for said hearing~ in complia~_ce'with Section 35311 of the Govern~
merit Code, and
~HEREAS, ~he City Clerk of the City of Bakersfield has ·caused writ~
ten notice of sU.ch proposed annexation to be ·given by mail at "least t~enty
days before 'the' public· hearing: on said proposed annexation in'compliance
with SubdiVisions(a) and (b) of Section 35311 ox~ the 6~overnm. ent Code of the
State of Caliform-ta, and

were filed against the propose~ annexation by any owner of property within
the territory p_~oposed to be annexed°

field to pay the bonded indebtedness of the C~_ty of Bakersfield~ des-

vided for in Ordin~ce No~ 893~ New Series of the City of Bakersfield,
and in Ordi.nance No, 950, New Series of said City, and any and ~l .othe~
indeb'hedness or liability of the City .which may accnue from and ~te~
date thereof.
SEC TION 3.
This Ordinance shall becOme effective thirty days f~om and af~e~
the date of its passage.
