AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 12 OF 0RDI- ~'?'
NANCE NO. 1033, NEW SERIES OF THE CIT~ OF
BAKERSFIELD, PROHIBITING ~ PLANTING OF' :
CERTAIN ~REES WITHIN SAID CITY. .~
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council .of the City of Bakersfield,
as follows:
SEOTION 1.
hat Section 12 of Ordinance No. 1033, New Series of the. ..
01~y of Bakersfield be and the same is hereby amended to read as
follows:
Sect~ion la. CERTAIN ~REES PROHIBITED. It shall be unlawfml "'
for the owner, lessee, agent, tenant or any ether person having charge ....
or control of any lot, piece or parcel Of land within th..e ."City of "' ""
Bakersfield, to plant, grow or permit to be planted or grown any female
populus fremontii wats tree or trees commonly known as female cotton-
wood tree or trees which bear seeds of a cottony, wingy or downy nature;.
the fruiting variety of rectus alba and rectus nigra tree or tre6s,
cemmonly, known as the fruiting varieties of mulberry' tree; any female
species of Salix tree, commonly known as willow tree, which bears' seeds
or aments of a cottony, wingy or downy nature; or any Ailanthus tree,
commonly known as tree of heaven, within said city.
SECTION 2. ..
This ordinance shall take effect thirty days from and after :
the date of its passage.
