BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the .City o~2akersfield~
as follows: '" "'

(a) Except as otherwise here'in' provided~ ...... "~: police officer"
· or fireman of the City of Bakersfield shall hereafter
a member of any police officers~ organization or firemen.~.S'~rganization~

association~ federation of labor union or group~ which by its rules
recognizes the right to bargain on behalf of its members wit'h any
employer as to conditions of employment or which rec~gnt~.e's the right

(b) This section shall not be construed to prohibi~ the "

either of said departments is~ or may become~ a member of any trade
association or labor un~on other than. such police officers~ or firemen~s
organization respectively~ as set forth' in paragraph (a) above, '..

SECTION 2,

SECTION 3
