995, NEW SERIES, BY ~~3NDING SUBDIVISION (g) THERE- .
OF, AND BY ADDING A NEW SUBDIVISION TO BE DESIGNAT .ED
AS (J).
SECTION 1.
That Subdivision (g) of Section 5 of Ordinance N°~ 995, New
Series, of the City of Bakersfield, be and the same is hereby amende~
to read as follows:
(g) In the case of death within the immediate family of an em-
ployee, such employee may, upon approval of the Department Head, use up
to three days of any accumulated sick leave, vacation leave, or accumu-
lated time off due him for overtime worked, to attend the funeral or
memorial services. Additional time off may be granted upon recommenda-
tion of the Department Head subject to approval of the City Manager.
The immediate family of an employee shall consist of wife, husband,
mother, father, sister, brother, son, daughter, mother-in-law, father-
in-law.
SECTION 2.
· That section 5 of Ordinance No. 995, New Series of the City of
Bakersfield, be and the same is hereby amended By adding thereto a new
subdivision to be designated as (j), which said subdivision shall read
as follows:
(J) Not note than ten days of accumulated sick leave may be
used in cases of pregnancy, commencing with the date of delivery, pro-
vided, howeve:~, that should any illness or condition arise necessitating
medical care as a result of such pregnancy or delivery, then in that
event, additional days of such accumulated sick leave may be used as may
be necessary upon a written statement of a physician certifying to said
illness or condition.
SECTION 3.
This Ordinance shall be effective 30 days from and after the date
its p~ss~ge.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoi~ Ordinance was passed and
adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular meet-
ing thereof held on the 18th day of August , 1958, by the
following vote:
