AN'0RDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF' ORDINANCE
NO. 815,' NEW SERIES, OF THE CITY OF BAKERS-
FIELD,.~PERTAINI_NG TO CLAIMS FOR EXEMPTION. _.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD,
as .follows: ~-
SECTION 1.
Section 3 of Ordinance No. 815, New.Series, of the City of
Bakersfield, is hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 3.. Any person claiming property to be exempt from
taxation shall make return thersof to the City Assessor annually,
the same as other property listed for taxation, and shall accompany
the same by an affidavit, on forms to be furnished by or subject to
'the approval of the Assessor, stating the facts .under which said
property is claimed to. be exempt. The Assessor may, in his discretion,
require other or additional proof of the facts stated by such affiant,
-before allowing the exemption claimed. Affidavits required for
exemptions under the Constitution and Laws of the State of California
as set forth' in Division l, Part 2, Chapter l, Article I of the
Revenue and Taxa ti 0n .. C ode of the State of California, shall be filed
with the 0ity Assessor at the time and in the manner prescribed in
Division 1, Part 2, Chapter 1, Article 2 of said Code. Failure upon
the part of the person 'claiming any such exemption to make affidavit
or furnish evidence herein required at the times hereinabove specified,
shall be deemed and treated as a waiver of such exem'~tion by such
person.
SECTION 2.
_ This ordinance .shall be effective thirty. 'days from and after
the date of its Passage.
