WHEREAS, a group insurance plan has .heretofor.e-.been adopted by .the City Council, w'n-'i'ch plan is,in the opinion of this Council, to the benefit .of the ci'ty.and its officers and employees participating in said g-~up insuranco, and it is the desire of the City.-to' continue to contribute toward .~he cost of said group .insurance, and ~TEREAS, the cost of tho premium for said group insurance ha~_:'_increased and it is the desire of the Council to contribute'toward s~d increase in' the cost o£ said insurance. _. NObl,'THERE~OI~E, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City · of Bakersfield, as follows: SECTION 1. The ~ity of Bakersfield shall contribute a sum not to exceed Five and no/lO0 Dollars . (b) Should the Auditor be prevented from paying any portion of the insurance pren~ium or contribution by City to the insurance · carrier under ~;his group insuranr, e plan or to pay-. the salary or compensation· bo 'such elective official by orde~ of a court of competent jurisdiction, then in that e~ent during tae period of the effective order of said Co,~.t, all cont':-ibutions permitted under this ordinance shall not be made by thc City for or on behalf of said official until a determination is' made that said Auditor may' pay said salary or compensation or said insurance contribution for and on behalf of said elective officer. This section .~hall not, however., prohibit said elective 'officio. 1 from participating in said insurance plan, at the option Of the insurance carmiaJ~t, by ps. yment by said official of the 'full monthly premiums to said insurance carrier.
