EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AMENDING SUBSECT]7~N (b) OF
SECTION 62 OF ORDINANCE NO. 658 NEW SERIES OF
THE CITY OF BAEEP~FIELD.
WHEREAS, due to the recent construction of an expressway-
type structure connecting Truxtun Avenue with Beale Avenue, it is
necessary for the orderly flow of traffic and for the safety-and
welfare of the. inhabitants of the City of Bakersfield, that a portion
of 18th Street be changed to a one-way street.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of
____.Bakersfield, as follows:
SECTION 1.
That subsection B of Section 62 of Ordinance No. 658 New
Series be and the sams is hereby amended to read as follows:
(b) EAST TO WEST:
20th Place . ........................ .. L to K Street
18th Street ..... 18th Street from Baker Street to
Eern Street.
SECTION 2.
This Council finds that an emergency exists requiring the
.?--- re gulation of traffic upon the above-mentioned street and, therefore,
hereby declares this Ordinance to be an emergency measure within the
meaning of Section 24 of the Cha~ter of the City of Bakersfield, State
of California, and necessary for the immediate preservation of the
· public peace, property, safety and welfare and shall take effect
immediately upon its passage.

I HEREBY CERTZFY that the foregoing Ordinance was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield, at a regular
meeting thereof, held on the 2nd day of May, 1960, by the following
