· ' '~EREAS', the Council of the City of Bakersfield, pursuant to
the provisions of Section 2235? of the Vehicle Code of the State of
C~lifornia, has determined, upon the basis of an engineering and
.~.tr~a___f_~ic survey, that a prima facie speed of 35 miles per hour is most
appropriate to facilitate the orderly movement of traffic and is
reasonable and safe upon Certain portions of Unvion Avenue and
~-.~-'Panorama .D~tve, and upon a. portion of Truxtun Avenue and Beale Avenue.
.NOW,. TEEREFORE,-BE IT 0RDAIRVED by the Council of the City of
Bakersfield, .as follows:
SECTION 1.
· That a prima facie speed of 35 miles per hour be and the same
is.~reby det.~rmine'd and declared to be the prima facie speed at
which vehicles may travel on Union Avenue and Panorama Drive between
-~ the northerly line of Niles Street. and the prolongation of the west
Curb line of ~he northerly terminus of Loma Linda Drive.
SECTION 2.
.... That a prima facie speed of 35 miles per hour be and the same
is'hereby determined a~d declared to be the prima facie speed at
which vehicles may travel on TruxtunAvenue easterly from M Street
to and including .the overpass at 99 Highway, easterly on East Truxtun
......._~n~e~..~o._~nd including the ~eale Avenue Grade Se~ara.tion, northerly
on Beale'Avenue to the city limits at Bernard Street. The prima facie
speed herein prescribed shall apply to and include both directions
'"~f..travel along the route described herein.

regulation of traffic upon ~_he above-mentioned streets-and, t.._h_erefo_~e,
hereby declares this ordinan~_~-to' be an emergencY measure within the
meaning of 'Section 24 Of. l:he Charter of the 'City of Bakersfielel~..-_~t'ate
of .California., and nece~_s.a_ry for the immediate preservation-of-..:_the
public 'peace, property, safety and welfare and shall.take effect
- ~ediately upon its passage. .. .

of Bakersfield, 'be. and the same are hereby repealed. -..
