AN 0RD~NANCE DETERMXNING A PRi~A FACI~. SPEED
Li~MI? OF 3% I~YLES PER HOUR ON A PORTION 0F
~To VERNON AVENUE, BETWEEN CO~.UMBUS AND CHURCH
STREETS, IN THE CITY 0P BAKERSFTELD.
WHEREAS:,. the Council of the City of Bakersfield, pursuant
to the provisions of .~eetion 223%7 of the Vehicle Cod~ of the State
of California, has determined, upon the basis of engineering and
traffic s.u~veys, that a prima facie speed of 3% miles per hou~ is
most appropriate to facilitate the orderly movement of t~affio and
is ~easonable and safe upon a portion of Mt. Vernon Avenue, between
Columbus and Church Streets.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE ~T ORDAINED by the Council of the City of
Bakersfield, as follows:
SECTION 1 o
That a prima faoie speed of 3% miles per hou~ be and the same
is hereby determined and declared to be the prima facie speed at which
vehicles may travel on Mte Vernon Avenue, from the .City limit line at
Columbus Avenue, to the southerly curb line of University Avenue.

I HEREBY CERTiFY that the foregoing Ordinance was passed and
adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield, at a regular meet-
ing thereof, held on the %th day of July, 1960, by the following vote:
