AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING 0RDINANCE NO.
1010, NEW SERIE~ OF THE CITY 0F BAKERSFIELD,
BY AMENDING SECTIONS 3 · 04 AND 20.02, AND BY
ADDING TWO NEW PARTS TO BE NUMBERED 4~ AND
16 .
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield,
as follows:
SECTION 1.
That Section 3.04 of Ordinance No. 10lO, New Series of the
City of Bakersfield, be and the same is hereby amended to read as
follows:
Section 3.04
"DESIGNATION OF ZONES"
The several classes of zones hereby and into which the City
is divided are designated as follows:
R-i One-Family Dwelling Zone
R-S Suburban Residential Zone
R-2 ..TworFa~atly'Dwelling' Z~ne
R-3 Limited Multiple-Family Dwelling Zone
R-4 Multiple-Family Dwelling Zone
C-0 Professional Office Zone
C-1 Limited Commercial Zone
C-2 Commercial Zone
M-1 Light Manufacturing Zone
M-2 General Manufacturing Zone
A Agricultural Zone
P Automobile Parking Zone
D Architectural Design Zone
W 0il Well Zone
T Trailer Park Zone

SECTION 2.
That Section 20.02 of Ordinance No. 1010, New Series of the
City of Bakersfield be and the same is hereby amended to read as
follows:
Section 20.02
"USES PERMITTED IN SPECIFIC ZONES"
The following uses may be permitted in the zones herein indi-
cated upon the granting of a conditional use permit:
1. Animal hospitals, kennels and veterinaries in the C-2
zone.
2. Dumps and refuse disposal areas in the M-2 zone.
3. Equestrian establishments, stables or riding academies,
schools or amusements in the 0-2 zone.
4- Sewer farms or sewage disposal plants in the M-2 zone.
5. Stockyards and animal slaughter in the M-2 zone.
6. 'Undertaking establishments and mortuaries in the C-1 zone.
SECTION 3.
That Ordinance No. 1010, New Series of the City of Bakers-
field be and the same is hereby amended by adding thereto two new
Parts to be numbered 4}, R-S Zone and 16}, T Zone, which said Parts
shall read as follows:
R-S ZONE

"R-S SUBURBAN RESIDENTIAL ZONE"
All permitted uses and regulations in the R-S Zone shall be
the same as the R-1 Zone, except that the following additional uses
are permitted:
A. Breeding, hatching, raising and fattening of poultry,
fowl, birds, rabbits, fish and frogs for domestic use.
B.' Keeping of bovine animals, horses, burros, mules, sheep

and goats on lots having an area of one-half (1/2)
acre or more, provided, however, that there shall
not be allowed on the premises more than one (1) adult
animal of the foregoing for each one-quarter (1/4)
acre°
The keeping of such fowl and animals shall conform to all other
provisions of law governing same, and no fowl or animals, nor any pen,
coop, stable, barn or corral shall be kept or maintained within fifty
(~0) feet of any dwelling or other building used for human habitation,
or within one hundred (100) feet of the front lot line of the lot
upon which it is located, or within twenty-five (2~) feet of the street
side of a corner lot, or within one hundred (100) feet of any public
park, school, hospital or similar institution.
There shall be no raising, killing or dressing of any such
animals or poultry for co~ercial purposes.

"T" ZONE
SECTION 16~.00
"T TRAILER PARK"
Land classified in a "T" Zone shall also be classified in an
R-4, C-i, C-2, or M-1 Zone, and the following regulations shall apply
in the "T" Trailer Park Zone unless otherwise provided in this Ordinance.
SECTION 16~.01
"USES PERMITTED"
A. Any use permitted in the zone in which the land is classi-
fied and when so used, subject to all the provisions contained in the
sections defining said zone°
B. A trailer park, when determined by the Planning Commission
and/or City Council that adequate evidence is support of the following
conditions has been shown:
(1) The establishment of a trailer park in said area
would not be injurious to the property or im-
provements in the vicinity.
(2) The establishment of a trailer park in said area
is desirable for the public necessity, convenience,
or general welfare.
(3) The land in such area is located so as to provide
adequate direct access to a freeway or major street.
SECT 0
"PROCEDURE"
Plans and elevations showing the exterior architectural design
and appearance of all buildings and structures and plot plans showing
location and dimension of accessways, structures, landscaping, parking
areas, and other improvements, of the individual trailer park to be
established shall be subject to the approval of the Planning Commission
in order that the proposed trailer park will be in harmony with other
structures and improvements in the area and will comply with all
standards and requirements set forth in Trailer Park Ordinance No. 1007,
New Series, of the City of Bakersfield.
The Planning Commission may require such additional improvements
as may be necessary to comply with the conditions set forth in Sec-
tion 16~.01 B above and the Trailer Park Ordinance.
In the event the Planning Commission determines that the trailer
park as proposed to be developed does not meet the intent of the
regulations set forth in this ordinance and the Trailer Park Ordinance,
said Planning Commission shall deny the permit for the trailer park.
In case the applicant is not satisfied with the action of the
Planning Commission, he may, within thirty (30) days after such action,
appeal in writing to the City Council. Said City Council shall
hold a public hearing on said appeal and shall render its decision
thereon within thirty (30) days after the filing thereof° Upon
approval by the City Council, the building permit shall be issued,
provided all other requirements of law have been complied with.

and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 1st day of August, 1960, by the
