AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 4~06, 5.06° 6o01,
6.06 AND 7.06 OF ORDINANCE NO. 1010, NEW SERIES,
OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD°
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield, as
follows:
SECTION 1.
That Sections 4.06, 5~06, 6o01, 6.06 and 7.06 of Ordinance
No° 1010, New Series, of the City of Bakersfield be and the same are
hereby amended to read as follows:
SECTION 4°06
"AREA REQUIREMENTS"
A o The minimum lot area shall be not less than seven thousand
two hundred (7,200) square feet per dwelling unit, provided, however,
that when a lot has less area than herein required and the lot
description was recorded in the office of the County Recorder at the
time of the passage of this Section of this Ordinance as a separate
lot, said lot may be occupied by not more than one (1) dwelling unit.
B. When there is an alley at the rear of the lot, the minimum
lot area may be measured to the center of said alley.

"AREA REQUIREMENTS"
A. The minimum lot area shall be not less than seven thousand
two hundred (7,200) square feet and the minimum lot area shall be not
less than twenty-five hundred (2,500) square feet per dwelling unit.
When a lot has less than seven thousand two hundred (7,200)
square feet and more than five thousand (5,000) square feet ~nd was
recorded in the office of the County Recorder at the time of the
passage of this Section of this Ordinance, said lot may be occupied
by nOt more than one (1) dwelling unit for each twenty-five hundred
(2,500) square feet°
When a lot has less than five thousand (5,000) square feet and
was recorded in the offioe of the County Recorder at the time of the

passage of this Section of this Ordinance, said lot may be occupied
by not more than one (1) dwelling unit.
Bo Where there is an alley to the rear of the lot, the minimum
lot area may be measured to the center of said alley.
SECTION 6.01
"USES PERMITTED"
A. Any use permitted in the R-1 and R-2 zones.
Bo Multiple-family dwellings and apartment houses.
Co The accessory buildings or structures necessary to such 'use
located on the s~me lot or parcel of lando
SECTION 6.06

A o The minimLun lot area shall be seven thousand two hundred
(7,200) square feet, and the minimum lot area shall be not less than
twelve hundred fifty (1,2~0) square feet per dwelling unit°
When a lot has less than seven thousand two hundred (7,200)
square feet and more than five thousand (~,000) square feet and was~
recorded in the office of the County Recorder at the time of the
passage of this Section of this Ordinance, said lot may be occupied
by not more than one (1) dwelling unit for each twelve hundred fifty
(1,2~0) square feet°
When a lot has less than five thousand (~,000) square feet and
was recorded in the office of the County Recorder at the time of the
passage of this Section of this Ordinance, said lot may be occupied
by not more than one (1) dwelling unit.

SECTION 7o06
"AREA REQUIREMENTS"
Ao The minimum lot area shall be not less than seven thousand
two hundred (7,200) square feet and the minimum lot area shall be not

less than six hundred (600) square feet per dwelling unit.
When a lot has less than seven thousand two hundred (7,200)
square feet and more than five thousand (5,000) square feet and was
recorded in the office of the County Recorder at the time of the
passage of this Section of this Ordinance, said lot may be occupied
by not more than one dwelling unit for each six hundred (600) square
feet.
When a lot has less than five thousand (5,000) square feet and
was recorded in the office of the County Recorder at the time of the
passage of this Section of this Ordinance, said lot may be occupied
by not more than one (1) dwelling unit.
B. Where there is an alley to the rear of the lot, the
minimum lot area may be measured to the center of said alley.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was passed
and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield, at a regular
meeting thereof, held on the Srd day of October, 1960, by the
following vote:
