AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1010,
NEW SERIES, BY ADDING THERETO A NEW PART TO BE
DESIGNATED lO~ "C-C ZONE".
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as
follows:
SECTION 1.
That Zoning Ordinance No. lO10, New Series, of the City of
Bakersfield be and the 'same is hereby amended by adding thereto a
new Part to be designs, ted as 10~, as follows:
"C-C ZONE"
SECTION 10~.00
"C-C CIVIC CENTER ZONE"
The following regulations shall apply in the "C-C Civic Center"
Zone unless otherwise provided in this Ordinance.
SECTION lO .O1
"USES PERMITTED"
A. Any of the following uses:
1. Auditoriums
2. Automobile parking areas
3. Banks
4. Barber Shops
5. Beauty Shops
6. BoOk Stores
7.Cocktail Lounges, when included within a hotel,
motel or restaurant
8.Confectionery Stores
9.Florist Shops
10. Drug Stores
ll. Gift Shops
12. Governmental Buildings
13 · Hotels
14. Motels, ~~
15. Offices, business or professional
16. Restaurants, tea rooms or cafes, where all customers
are served at a table or counter within the building
17. Stationery Stores
18. Tailor, Clothing or wearing apparel shops
19. Travel bureaus
20. Telephone answering services
Bo The above specified stores, shops or businesses shall be
retail establishments selling new merchandise exclusively and shall be
permitted only under the following conditions:
1. Such stores, shops or businesses, except automobile
parking areas, shall be conducted entirely within an
enclosed building.
2. Accessory buildings or structures, including storage
garages for the exclusive use of the patrons and
employees of the above listed stores or businesses,
may be permitted when necessary to such use and when
located on the same lot or parcel of l~nd.
3. Be'~oL~e ~ building permit may be issued for any
structure within the C-C Zone, applicant must first
have the plans approved by the Planning Commission
in accordance with Sections 15.01 and 15.02 of this
Ordinance.
SECTION 10~.02
"BUILDING HEIGHT"
Six (6) stories and not to exceed seventy-five (75) feet.
SECTION 10{-.03
"FRONT YARD"
There shall be a front yard of not less than fifteen (15) feet.
SECTIO t0 .04
"SIDE YARD"
The minimum side yard of a corner lot shall be fifteen (15) feet
on the side street frontage.
SECTIO lO .0
"REAR YARD"
There shall be behind every building a rear yard having a
minimum depth of twenty (20) feet. Where there is an alley to the
rear of the 10t, such rear yard may be measured to the center of said
alley o

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was passed and
adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular
meeting thereof held on the 6th day of September, 1960, by the
