WHBRBA$~ a petition was filed with the Council of the City
'of Bakersfield on the 12th day of October~ 19609 requesting that
certain uninhabited territory therein described be annexed to and in-
corporated wit]nih the City of Bakersfield~ and
WHBRBAS~ said petition was signed by the owners of one-fourth
of the land~ by area, and by assessed value as shown on the last
equalized assessment roll of the County of ~ern, and
~HEREASp the territory described in said petition is contiRuous
to the City of Bakersfield~ and
I~HBRBAS~ the said territory does not form a part of any other
city~ and
WHERBAS~ on the 12th day of October~ 1960, there was filed in
the office of the City Clerk of the City of Bakersfield, a written
consent~ signed by the ovmers of more than two-thirds of the value of
the territory, that said territory be subjected to taxation after the
completion of such annexation equally ~ith the property in the City
of Bakersfield to pay the bonded indebtedness of said City therein
described~ as provided fo~ in O~dinance No. 893~ New Sezles, in
Ordinance Noo 950, New Series~ in Ordinance No. 1112, New Series, and
in Ordinance Noo i229, New $eries~ all of the City of Bakersfield,
and any and all other indebtedness or liability of the City outstandin~
or authorized on and after the date of completion of said annexation,
and this Council hereby de~ermlnes that said consent is si~ned by the
owners of more than t~-~hirds of the value of the territory~ and
complies in every respect ~ith the provisions of Section 35319 of the
Government Code of ~he Sta~e cf California, and
V~qEREAS, the Counci! of the City of B~kersfield did, on the lVth
day of October~ 1960~ pass a Resolution being NOo 111-60, in compliance
with the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited Territory Act of
!939~ and amendments there~ being Title 4, Division 29 Part 2,
Chapter l, Article 5 of the Government Code of the State of California,
specifically describing the boundaries of the territory so proposed to
be annexed to t:he City of Bakersfield, and designating such territory
by and appropriate name~ and se~ting Monday, ~he 14th d&y of November,
1960~ at the hour of eigh~ o~cIDck P. Mo, in the Council Chambers of the
City Hall~ 1501. Truxtun Av~nu~ Bakersfield, California, as ~he day,
hour and place when and where ~he City Council would hear protests
made by any person owning real property within the aforesaid territory,
and
WHEREAS~ said Resolution was published at least twice, but not
oftener ~han once a week in ~ Bakersfield Californian, a newspaper
of general circulation published in the City of Bakersfield, said
publication having been completed at least ~wenty days prior ~o the
date se~ for said hearing, in compliance with Section 35311 of the
Government Code, and
WHEREAS, at the time s~t for hearing protests, no written
protests were filed againsC ~ha proposed annexation by any owner of
p~operty within. ~he territory pzoposed to be annexed°
NOW~ THEREFOR~ BE iT OR~AiN~ by the Council of the City of
Bakersfield, as follows:
SECTION 1o
That %he Council of ~he City of Bakersfield hereby approves
~he annexation to and inclusion within the incorporated limits of
~he City of Bakersfield, of ~ha% certain uninhabited territory dealM-
hated as ~'VERDfi NOo 1"~ and i~ is hereby further ordained that said
territory be and the same is hereby annexed to said City; that said

A parcel of land situate in the County of Kern, State of
California~ and being a portion of Block "C" of "Greene's
Tract" as per map of said "Greene's Tract" recorded November
9, 1905, in Book 1 of ~aps at page 97, in the office of the
County Recorder of said Kern County:
Beginning at t~he northeasi corner of Lot 6 in said Blocl¢ "C"

a point on the current corporate boundary of the City of
Bakersfield~ tlaence (l) southerly along the easterly boundary
of said Lot 6, and along the corporate boundary of said City,
as same is defined by O:cdinance No. 830 New Series~ to inter-
sect a line parallel with, and distant 30 feet southerly as
measured perpendicular to ~he northerly boundary of said Lot 6:
~hence (2) westerly along said parallel line, departtn~ from
the corporate boundary of said City, to intersect the westerly
boundary of said Lo~ d; thence (3) northerly along last named
westerly boundary to ~h~ southeast corner of Lot 4 in said
Block "C"; ~hence (4) w~sterly along the southerly boundary
of said Lot 4 ~o in~ers~c~ the westerly boundary of the ~ast
152 feet of the Sou~k h~lf (So 1/2), of said Lot 4~ thence
(5) northerly ~Xong las'2 named westerly boundary to intersect
~he southerly boundary of ~he North 154 feet of the ~ast 152
feet of the So~th half <S: 1/2), of said Lo~ 4; thence (6)
easterly along last named southerly boundary to intersect
the westerly b~undary o£ Lot 3 in said Block "C"; ~hence
(7) northerly along last named westerly boundary to inter-
sect the westerly extension of the southerly line of 2nd
S~reet~ as sai~ 2nd S~e~ is shown on the map of the Goode
Tract, recorded ~ay 2~ ~9t0, in Book 1 of Maps at page 144,
in the office of the said County Recorder, said last named
intersection b~ing a point on the corporate boundary of the
City of Bakersfield; ~hence ($) easterly along said last
named westerly extension% and along said corporate boundary
as same is defined by ~ha~ certain annexation designated as
"South Bakersfield Dis'8~ict No. 3" to intersect the westerly
boundary of ~he East hail (Eo 1/2) of said Lot 3; ~hence (~)
southerly along last named westerly boundary and along the
corporate boundary of said City as same is defined by Ordi-
nance No° 1235~ Ne~ Sezies~ to intersect the southerly
boundary of said Lo~ 3~ thence (10) easterly along last
named southerly boundary~ and along ~he corporate boundary
of said City~ as sam~ is defined by said Ordinance No. 1235,
Ne~ Series~ and by Ordinance Noo 917~ New Series, ~0 the

Said territory: and the property located therein, shall, upon
the completion of the annexation of the same to the City of BaWersfield,
be subjected ~o taxation equaily wi~h other p~operty in the City of
Bakersfield lo pay ~he bonded ~ndebtedness cf the City of Bakersfield,
described in the aforementioned con~ent of the owners of property,
located therein, the issuance of bonds to represent said indebtedness
being provided for in Ordinance Noo 893, New Series, in Ordinance
