AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 6, ~AAPTER 20,
SECTION 376, PART (b) OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE
OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as
fo llows:
That Title 6, Chapter 20, Section 376, Part (b) of the Municipal
Code of the City of Bakersfield be and the same is hereby amended to
read as follows:
(b) TRAVELING SHOWS. Every road show, opera, concert, ballet,
or other attraction or entertainment not otherwise provided for in
this chapter shall pay a license tax on estimated daily gross receipts
as follows: Less than $1,500.00, $10.00 per day; Over $1,500.00,
$20.00 per day.
This subdivision shall not apply to entertainments sponsored by
Kern County Philharmonic Association, Kern County Music Association,
Co....,~unity Theatre, Broadway Theatre League of Kern County, non-profit
benefit shows consisting entirely of local talent, nor to entertainment
conducted exclusively for charity, schools, or religious purposes.
Entertainments sponsored by fraternal organizations or service clubs
exclusively for charity, may be exempt. Such claim for exemption
must be approved by the City Charitable Solicitations Board.
