AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN
UNXNHABXTED TERRITORY, DESIGNATED **I40NCLqtE NO. 1'*
TO THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFI~.D:
~EREAS, on the 10Ch day of July, 1961, ~he Council o£ the City
of Bakersfield d~d pass and adopt Resolution No. 70-61 giv~n~ notice
of the proposal to annex certain uninhabited territory to ~he City of
Bakersfield, said territory being therein desi~nated as "Noncure No,
said Resolution describing the boundaries of ~he territory proposed to
be annexed; and
~HEREAS, said Resolution No. 70-61. did contain a notice of the
day, hour and p~ace Sen and v~ere ~he Council of ~he City ~ould hear
protests made by any person ovmin~ real property within the territory
proposed to be annexed, ~he time of said hearing being not less ~han
for~y nor more ~han sixty days from ~he date of passage of said
~esolution; and
~HEREAS, on the 21st day 'of Au~tmt, 1961, at the hour of
o' clock P .H., in the Council Chambers iu the City Hall of the City
of Bakersfield, County of Rem, State of California, s~.id time and
place being the day, hour and place fixed in said Resolution No. 70-61
for hearing protests to the said annexation, the said City Council di.d
hear and pass upon all protests m~de to the proposed annexation and
did determine that protests had not been made by the o~ners of one-
half of the value of the privately o~ned territory proposed to be
annexed as shovm by the Last eq~al~-zed assessment ro11, nor by public
o~ners of one-half of the value of the privately o~ned territory
proposed to be annexe/i as d-_~.e~n~Lned by sat.d leg~slative body.; and.
~HEP~.AS, said territory is contiguous to the City of Bakersfield,
and is uninhabited territory in the County of Kern;
NOW, THEREFORE, the said Council of the City of Bakersfield
does hereby approve the anne~tion of the ter?.itory hereinafter de-
scribed to the City of Bakersfield, and does hereby further ordain
that the said territory be and is hereby anne~md to the City of
Bakersfield.
That said territory, the a~exation of which to the City of
Bakersfield is herein approved, is all that territory situate in the
County of Kern, State of California, more particularly described as
follows:
A parcel of land situate in the County of Kern, State of Califo~nia,
and being a portion of the East half of the Southeast quarter of
Section 12, Township 30 South, Range 27 East,
Beginning at the Southeast corner of Lot 1 Of T~act No. 2385, and
as said Lot 1 is sho~n on the Nap of said Tract No. 2385 recorded
April 1, 1960, in Book i1 of Naps at Page 66 in the office of the
County Recorder of said .Kern County;
THENCE (1) North 0° 00' 30" W., along the Easterly boundary
of said Lot 1 and along the Northerly prolongation
-~hereof 812.53 feet, to ~he beginning of a tangent
curve, from ~hich the radial center of said curve
bears South 89° 59' 30" W., ~Lstant 20 feet;
THENCE (2) Northwesterly along said curve, concave to the
Southwest ~-~th a radius of 20 fee_t, through
central angle of 89° 54' 52", a ~Lstance of 31.386
feet to a point of tangency, from ~hich the last
p~med radial center bears South 0° 04' 38" W.,
d~stant 20 feet;
THENCE (3) North 89.0 55' 22" W., along a line parallel vr~th,
d~stant 45 feet Southerly from, and as measured
perpendicular tO the Northerly boundary of the
Southeast quarter of said Section 12, a distance
of 560.00 feet to the beginnin~ of a tangent curve;
THENCE (4) Southwesterly alon§ said curve concave to the
Southeast ~_th a ra~Lus of 20 feet through a central
angle of 90° 05' 08", a distance of 31.45 feet to a

cula. r to the West boundary of said Tract 2385, said
last named boundary also beins the Easterly boundary
of that certain parcel of l~nd conveyed to the County

of Kern by Grant Deed dated February 24, 1960 and
recorded April 12, 1960 in Book 3260 at Pases 659 and 660
Official Records of said Kern County;
THENCE (§) South 0° 00' 30" E. and parallel with last named East
line a d~stance of 33~.925 feet to a point in the
Easterly extension of the South line of lest named
parcel 8o conveyed to the County cfi Kern;
THENCE (6) South 89° 59' 30" W., along last ;~amed Southerly
boundary and Easterly extension thereof, a distance
of 299.65 feet, more or less to intersect the Easterly
boundary of the West 369.15 feet of the East half o£
the Southeast quarter o£ said Section 12;
THENCE (7) North 0° 00' 52" W., al.o, ng last named Easterly
boundary a d~stance of 370.40 feet to intersect
a line parallel w~th, distant 30 feet Southerly
from, and as measured perpendicular to the
Northerly boundary of the Southeast quarter of
said Section 12, said last named intersection also
being a point on the current corporate boundary
of the City of Bakersfield;
THENCE (8) South 89° 55' 22" East, alon~ last ~Rm~_d parallel
line, on and along said corporate boundary of the
City of Bakersfield as said corporate boundary is
defined by Ordinance No. 1021 New Series a d~stence
of 924.69 fleet, more or less, to intersect a line'
parallel w~th and distant 30 feet Westerly, as
measured perpendicular from the Easterly boundary
of the Southeast quarter of said Section 12;
THENCE (9) South 0° 00* 30" E., alon~ last named parallel
line, on and along the corporate boundary of the
C~ty of Bakersfield as said corporate boundary
is defined by Ordinance No. 898 New Series, a
d~stance of 847.50 feet to intersect the Southerly
boundary of said Tract No. 2385, said last named
intersection also be~.n~ the Southeast corner of
said Tract No. 2385;
THENCE (10) North' 89° 55' 22" W., along last named Southerly
boundary departing from the corporate boundary of
the City of Bakersfield, a d'~stance of 25 feet to
the Southeast corner of Lot I in said Tract No. 2385,
the point of begitming, conta~ing 3.243 acres of
land, more or less.
! HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was passed and
adopted by the Council of the C~ty of Bakersfield at a regular meetin~
