AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 17.12.020 OF
CHAPTER 17.12 (ZONING MAP) OF THE MUNICIPAL
CODE OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD.
WHEREAS, in accordance with the procedure set forth in
the provisions of Title 17 of the Municipal Code of the City of
Bakersfield, the Planning Commtssion and City Council have held
hearings respectively, on a petition to zone certain property now
being annexed '~o said City, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined after due
consideration of the petition and the reco~maendation of the Planning
Co..-~ission, herein on file, together with the reasons advanced at
the hearing for the zoning of said property, that said zoning
should be authorized upon annexation of said property to the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the
City of Bakersfield, as follows:
SECTION 1.
That Section 17.12.020 of Chapter 17.12 (Zoning Map) of
the Municipal Code of the City of Bakersfield, be and the same is
hereby amended by extending the boundaries of said map to include
certain property in a C-2 (Co~...mrcial) Zone, upon the annexation
of said property to the City of Bakersfield, the boundaries of
which property are shown on the map hereto attached and made a
part of this ordinance, and are more specifically described as
follows:
That'-certain property in the County of Kern, located Westerly
of Oak, Northerly of Chester Lane, extending to Stine Canal,
being more particularly described as a parcel of land situ-
"ated in a portion of Sections 25, 26, 35, and 36, T 29 S, R
27 E, M.D.B. & M. beginning at the intersection of the East-
erly boundary line of Oak Street and the Northerly boundary
line of Chester Lane as said intersection is shown on that
map of the City of Bakersfield recorded November 25, 1898, in
Map Book 1, Pages 13 and 14, in the Office of the County
Recorder, County of Kern, State of California, said intersec-
tion also being a point on the current corporate boundary of
the City of Ba~rsfield; thence Westerly along the Westerly
pro.longation of the Northerly boundary line o.f Cheste_r La.ne
to xntersect the Westerly boundary line of saxd Oak Street,
said Westerly line being the West line of said Section 36;
thence continuing Westerly into said Section 35, along the
Northerly boundary line of Chester Lane a distance of 181
feet; thence Northerly 242.5 feet; thence Westerly 120 feet;
thence Southerly. 242.5 feet; thence We.sterly along the North-
erly boundary lxne of Chester Lane a distance of 29.7 feet;
thence South, Southeas.terly. a distance of 67 feet more or
less to intersect a poxnt zn the Southerly boundary line of
Chester Lane; thence Westerly along the Southerly boundary
line of Chester Lane and.the Westerly.prolongation thereof to
intersect the Westerly rxght-of-way line of Real Road; thence
Northerly alone the Northerly extension.of the West line of
Real Road 360 feet; thence Westerly a dzstance of 388.42 feet
to intersect the East lin~ of the Stine Canal right-of-way;
thence Northerly a distance of 237.03 feet; thence North, North-
easterly a distance of 94.80 feet, more or less; thence North-
easterly a distance of 144.14 feet to a point on tangent which
bears N 34° 08' 02" E, Northeasterly along a curve concave
Northwes'~erly with a radius of 275 feet through an angle of
40° 35' 08", an arc distance of 194.80 feet; thence N 13° 32'
54" E 77.53 feet; thence N 70° 52' 05" E 67.53 feet; thence
N 15° 43' 58" W 79.70 feet more or lessi thence continuing N
15° 43' 58" W 5.04 feet; thence N 4° 44 25" E 100.19 feet;

tion 35 and entering said Section 26 on this course); thence

a.radius of 440 feet through an angle of 4° 11' 04" an arc
dxstance of 32.14 feet; thence S 81° 33' 43" E 172.19 feet;
thence $ 1° 42' 08" W 47.88 feet; thence S 89° 05' 56" E
32.06 feet to the Southeast corner of said Section 26; thence
Easterly along the Southerly line of Section 25 to intersect
the Southerly prolongation of the Easterly right-of-way line
of Oak Street; thence Southerly to intersect the Southerly
right-of-way lime of California Avenue; thence Westerly to
intersect the Easterly right-of-way lime of Oak Street;
thence Southerly to the point of beginning.
SECTION 2.
This ordinance shall become effective upon the
annexation of the above-described territory to the City of Bakers-
field.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoin§ Ordinance was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a
regular meeting thereof held on the .5th day of November, 1962, by
