HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD NO 1467 ORDINANCE NO. 1467 NEW SERIES AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR ONE-WAY TRAFFIC ON 23RD AND 24TH STREETS IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD, BETWEEN CERTAIN POINTS, DESIG- NATING THE DIRECTION OF SAID TRAFFIC ON SAID STREETS. WHEREAS, 24th Street west from Golden State Avenue is an existing State highway located in 'the City of Bakersfield in the State of California, and the Council of said City is desirous that the segment of such State highway extending east from the vicinity of "B" Street to "Q" Street, in said City, be restricted to one- way traffic; and WHEREAS, 23rd Street is a city street located in said City, and the Council of said City is desirous that the segment of such City street extending east from the vicinity of "B" Street to "Q" Street, in said City, be restricted to one-way traffic.; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bakersfield as follows: Section 1. That the following named streets are hereby designated as one-way streets in the directions indicated: 1. 23rd Street° One-way traffic in an easterly direction beginning at a point 67 feet east of the intersection of the center lines of 24th Street and "B" Street and ending at a point on 24th Street at the intersection of the center lines of 24th Street and "Q" Street via two connections between 23rd Street and 24th Street to be constructed by the Department of Public Works of the State of California. 2° 24th Street. One=way traffic in a westerly direction beg.inning at a point at the intersection of the center lines of 24th Street and "Q" Street and ending at a point 67 feet east of the intersection of the center lines of 24th Street and "B" Street. Section 2. That the designation of 23rd Street and 24th Street as one-way streets shall become operative only upon the inclusion of 23rd Street as pa~.t of the State Hi§hway System ~' under the provisions of Section 111o5 a~d Section 81 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, and said 23rd Street and said 24th Street bein§ opened to one-wa~ traffic, and appropriate signs being erected by the Department of Public Works of the State of California. Section 3. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect beginning thirty days from final passage of this ordinance and thereafter. o0o I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a regular meeting thereof held on the 15th day of April, 1963, by the following vote:.
