AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE SEVENTEEN OF THE
MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD BY
CHANGING THE LAND USE ZONING OF THAT CERTAIN
PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD LOCATED
NORTHERLY OF 24TH STKEET, EASTERLY OF KERN
RIVER, WESTERLY OF TRACT NO. 1387 AND
SOUTHERLY OF THE NORTHERN BOUNDARY OF THE CITY
OF BAKERSFIELD.
WHEREAS, in accordance with the procedure set forth in
the provisions of Title 17 of the Municipal Code of the City of
Bakersfield, the Planning Commission and City Council have held
hearings respectively, on a motion of the Planning Commission to
change the land use zoning of that certain property in the City of
Bakersfield located northerly of 24th Street, easterly of Kern
River, westerly of Tract No. 1387 and southerly of the northern
boundary of the City of Bakersfield, and
WHE~S, the City Council has determined after due
consideration of said motion and the recommendations of the
Planning Co.-.-ission herein on file, together with the reasons
advanced at the hearings for a change of zoning of said property,
that said zoning change should be authorized.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield, as follows:
SECTION 1.
That Section 17.12'.020 (Zoning Map) of the Municipal Code
of the City of Bakersfield, be and the same is hereby amended by
changing the land use zoning of certain property in said City, the
boundaries of which property are shown on the map hereto attached
and made a part hereof, as follows:
Changing the zoning boundaries from an A (Agricultural) Zone to an
R_-i (S. ingle_-Family Dwellin~ Zone those portions that are within
the Czty of Baker.sfield of Sections 24 and 25, T. 29 S., R. 27 E.,M.D.M.
as per map filed in the U. S. Surveyor Genaral'.~
~u, xooo, oelng more particularly described as follows: Beginning
at the Northwest corner of said Section 25; thence Southerly along
West line of said Section, the same being a West boundary of the
corporate limits of the City of Bakersfield, a distance of 215 feet,
more or less, to the true point of beginning; thence continuing
along said boundary Southerly a distance of 390 feet more or less;
thence at a bearing of S. 73° 25~ 20" E. a distance of 360 feet,
more or less. to a point on the Northern right-of-way line of 24th
Street; thence Easterly along said right-of-way line a distance
of 290 feet, more or less, to a point of intersection with the
right-of-way of realigned Stine Canal; thence Northerly and
Westerly along the West line of said Stine Canal a distance of
720 feet. more or less, to a point on the North line of Section
25; thence continuing along the West right-of-way line of Stine
Canal a al%stance of 235 feet, more or less, into Section 24; thence
at a bearing of S. 45° 07~ 30" W., a distance of 460 feet, more or
less; thence at a bearing of S. 52° 01' 10" W., a distance of 190
feet, more or less~ to the true point of beginning;
and that portion of Section 2.4, T. 29 S., R. 27 E., M.D.Mo, as per
map filed in theU' S. Surveyor General's Office January 20, 1868,
being more particularly described as follows: Beginning at the
Northwest corner of Tract No. 1387 as per map filed March 26, 19.48,
in Map Book 6~ Pages 104 to 111~ in the Office of the Recorder,
County of Kern, State of California - the same being a point on
the Northern boundary line of the City of Bakersfield; thence
Westerly along said line a distance of 1165 feet, more or less,
o. a point on the East bank of Kern River; thence at a bearing of
19~ 0.4~ .40" W., a distance of 700 feet, more or less; thence
S. 30° 28~ 20" W., a distance of 1417.27 feet; thence S..45~ 07~ 30"
W.~ a distance of 900 feet, more or less, to a point on the West
line of the realigned Stine Canal right-of-way; thence South-
Southeasterly along said right-of-way a distance of 720 feet, more
or less, to a point on the North right-of-way of 2.4th Street;
thence Easterly along said right-of-way to a point of intersection
with the Southwest corner of Tract No. 1387; thence Northeasterly
along the Western Subdivision line of Tract No. 1387 to the point
of beginning.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a
regular meeting thereof held on the 8th day of April~ 1963 by the
