AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BAKERSFIELD AMENDING SECTION 4.06.040 OF
CHAPTER 4.06 (ELECTION OF MAYOR) OF THE
MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD.
BE IT ORDAINED b~ the Council of the City of Bakersfield
as follows:
SECTION 1.
That Section 4.06.040 of the Municipal Code of the City
of Bakersfield be amended to read as follows:
4.05.040 Time for presenting petition for nomination.
A petition for nomination for any one candidate may be presented
to the Clerk not earlier than one hundred ten (110) days, nor
later than ei~hty-five (85) days before the date of election. The
Clerk shall endorse thereon the day, hour and minutes when the
petition was presented to him and shall not accept any petition
after 5 o'clock P.M., on the ei§hty-fifth (85th) day; provided,
that if such day is a Saturday or other legal holiday, no petition
for nomination shall be accepted after 5 o'clock P.M., on the
preceding business day.
SECTION 2.
This ordinance shall take effect thirty days from and
after the date of its passage°

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a
regular meeting thereof held on the 1st day of April , 1963,
by the following vote:
