AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE SEVENTEEN OF THE
MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD BY
CHANGING THE LAND USE ZONING OF THAT CERTAIN
PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD LOCATED
ON BOTH THE EASTERLY AND WESTERLY SIDES OF
"H" STREET, SOUTHERLY OF CALIFORNIA AVENUE.
WHEREAS, in accordance with the procedure set forth in
the provisions of Title 17 of the Municipal Code of the City of
Bakersfield, the Plannin§ Comm~ssion and City Council have held
hearin§s respectively, on a motion of the Plannin§ Co~.....ission to
chan§e the land use zonin§ of that certain property in the City of
Bakersfield locate~ on both the easterly and westerly sides of '~I"
Street, southerly of California Avenue, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined after due
consideration of said motion and the reco-auendations of the
PlanninE Co~m{ssion herein on file, to§ether with the reasons
advanced at the hearings for a change of zoning of said property,
that said zoning change should be authorized.
NOW, THEREFORE~ BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield, as follows:
SECTION 1.
That Section 17.12.020 (Zoning Map) of the Municipal Code
of the City of Bakersfield, be and the same is hereby amended by
changing the land use zoning of certain property in said City, the
boundaries of which property are shown on the map hereto attached
and made a part hereof, as follows:
Changing the zoning boundaries from an R-3 (Limited Multiple-
Family Dwelling) Zone to a C-O (Professional Office) Zone those
certain properties more particularly described as follows: Those
certain properties occupying the Easterly 151.5 feet 'of Block
24% and the S~outheasterly 151.5 feet of Block 24, excepting the
Easterly 16.~ .feet therefrom of both .bl.ocks abandoned to.".H" Street,
said blocks being parts of the unsubd~vxded Southern Addxtzon
recorded November 25, 1898 in Map Book 1, Pages 13 and 14, in the
Office of the County Recorder, County of Kern, State of California;
and those certain properties occupying the Easterly 158 feet,
excepting the Easterly 16.5 feet therefrom of the Hirshfield Tract,
recorded March 23, 1893 in Map Book' 1, Pages 27 and 28 in the
Office of the County Recorder, County of Kern,' State of California;
and Lots 5 through 10, inclusive, excepting the Easterly 16.5 feet
therefrom of Block 33 .of subdivided Southern Addition, recorded
October 26, 1909, in Map Book 1, Pages'.125 and 126, in the Office
of the County Recorder, Coun'ty of Kern, State of California; and
Lots 5 through 11, inclusive, excepting the Easterly 16.5 feet
therefrom of Block 33% of said subdivided' Southern Addition, and
the Easterly 140 feet of the Northerly 140 feet - excepting'the
Easterly 16.5 feet therefrom - of Block 37 of the unsubdivided
Southern Addition recorded October.26, 1909 in Map Book 1, Pages
125 and 126 in the Office of the County Recorder, County of Kern,
State of California; and the Easterly 134 feet of the Southerly
94 feet of said Block 37 of the Southern Addition; and the Easterly
145.5 feet - excepting the Easterly 16.5 feet therefrom of Block
38 of the aforementioned Southern Addition; and Lots 1 through 12,
inclusive, of Block 1 of Laguna Park Square,' recorded. April 24,
1917, in Map Book 3, Page 17 in the Office of the County Recorder,
County of Kern, State of California; and the Eastern halves of
Blocks 53 and 54, excepting the Easterly 16.5 'feet therefrom, of
the Wible Subdivision, recorded May 7, 1903, in Map Book 1, Page
90, in the Office of the County ~corder, County of Kern, Sta.te
of California; and Lots 9 through 13, inclusive, of both Blocks 1
and 4, excepting the Easterly 16.5 feet therefrom, of the South
Moreland Tract, recorded February 21, 1910, in N~p Book 1, Page
134, in the Office of the County Recorder, County of Kern, State.
of California; and Lots 8 and 9 of Block 1, excep.ting the Easterly
16.5 feet therefrom of the Laguna Square Subdivision, recorded
April 24, 1917 in Map Book 3, Page 17, in the Office of the County
Recorder, County o.f Kern, State of California; all previously
described properties being located .Westerly of "H" Street.
Those certain properties abutting the Easterly R/W line of "H"
Street, excluding the North % of Block 1 of Lowell Addition, but
including Lots 9, 10 and 11 of Block 1, and all properties in the
Eastern halves of Blocks 24, 25, 48, 49, 72, 73, 96, the Western
half of West Block 1 (Eye), and the Northerly 505.25 feet of the
Westerly 137.625 feet of West Block P, all properties, described
above being parts of the Lowell Addition Subdivision redorded
November 25, 1898 in Map Book 1, Pages 13 and 14, in the Office of
the County Recorder, County of Kern, State of California.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoin§ Ordinance was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a
regular meeting thereof held on the 6th day of Mays 1963, by the
