AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 17.12.020 OF
CHAPTER 17.12 (ZONING MAP) OF THE MUNICIPAL
CODE OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD.
WHEREAS, in accordance with the procedure set forth in
the provisions of Title 17 of the Municipal Code of the City of
Bakersfield, the Plannin§ Commission and City Council have held
hearings respectively, on a petition to zone c'ertain property now
being annexed to said City, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined after due
consideration of the petition and the recommendation of the Planning
Co~...-ission, herein on file, together with the reasons advanced at
the hearing for the zoning of said property, that said zoning
should be authorized upon annexation of said property to the City.
NOW, THEREFORE~ BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the
City of Bakersfield, as follows:
SECTION 1.
That Section 17.12.020 of Chapter 17.12 (Zoning Map) of
the Municipal Code of the City of Bakersfield, be and the same is
hereby amended by extending the boundaries of said map to include
certain property in a C-2 (Commercial) Zone, upon the annexation
of said property to the City of Bakersfield, the boundaries of
which property are shown on the map hereto attached and made a
part of this ordinance, and are more specifically described as
follows:
That certain property in the County of Kerns being portions of
Sections 35 and 36, T. 29 S., R. 27 E., M.D.M., located Westerly
of Oak Street, Northerly of Palm Street, and Southerly of Chester
Lane, being more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the Southwest corner of Lot 52 Block A of Greene's
Tract, recorded November 9, 1905 in Map Book 1, Page 9? in the
Office of the County Recorder, County of Kern, State of California..,
said corner being a point co.-.~on to the East line of Oak Street
and the current corporate boundary of the City of Bakersfield;
thence South along East side of Oak Street to the South line of
Palm Street; thence West along South line of Palm Street a distance
of 30 feet; thence South along the corporate City boundary to a
point 1151.48 feet Northerly and 30 feet Easterly of the Southeast
corner of said Section 35; thence Westerly along the Easterly
prolongation of the Northern boundary line of Tract' ~1397, a
distance of 320 feet, a point common with the current corporate
City boundary; thence N. 0°16'35'' E. 260.84 feet; thence S.
89041708'' E. 240.01 feet to the beginning of a curve concave to
the Southwest, having a radius of 20 feet; thence along a curve
a distance of 31.42 feet; thence from a point of tangency N.
0°16'35'' E. 100 feet to a point in a curve concave to the Northwest,
having a radius of 20 feet; thence alon~ said curve 31.42 feet to
a point of tangency; thence N. 89°41'08" W., 239.99 feet; thence
N. 0°16'35'' E. 1131.90 feet; thence S. 89°42'10'' E., 240.01 feet
to the beginning of'a curve, concave to the Southwest, having a
radius of 20 feet; thence along said curve a distance of 31.41
feet to a point of tangency; thence N. 0°16'35'' E., 62.99 feet to
intersect the North line of the Southeast 1/4 of said Section 35,
the same being a point in the current City boundary; thence
Westerly along said boundary to intersect a point on the Easterly
extension of the boundary of that certain parcel described in
Grant Deed recorded in Book 2162, Page 520 of the official records
of Kern County; thence Northerly along aforementioned boundary,
co~.~:.on to the current corporate boundary to the Northeast corner
of property described on said Grant Deed; thence Easterly along
the Easterly prolongation of the: North boundary, line as described
in said. Grant Deed to intersect the Easterly R~W Line o.f U. S. 99
Bakersfield By-Pass; thence Northwesterly along said R/W Line to
the North line of that parcel of land referred to as Parcel ~1 of
that Grant Deed recorded June 26, 1962, in Book 3503, Pages 698
in the Official Records of the County of Kern; thence Easterly
along said North line to intersect the East line of Oak Street,
being common to the corporate limits of the City of Bakersfield;
thence Southerly to the point of beginning.
SECTION 2.
This ordinance shall become effective upon the
annexation of the above-described territory to the City of.Bakers-
field.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoin§ Ordinance was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a
regular meeting thereof held on the 29th day of April , 1963,
by the following vote:
