AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 17.12.020 OF
CHAPTER 17.12 (ZONING MAP) OF THE MUNICIPAL
CODE OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD.
WHEREAS, in accordance with the procedure set forth in
the provisions of Title 17 of the Municipal Code of the City of
Bakersfield, the Planning Cc~,..ission and City Council have held
hearings respectively, on a petition to zone certain property now
being annexed to said City, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined after due
consideration of the petition and the recommendation of the Planning
Co~,,,,,ission, herein on file, together with the reasons advanced at
the hearing for the zoning of said property, that said zoning
should be authorized upon annexation of said property to the City°
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the
City of Bakersfield, as follows:
SECTION 1.
That Section 17.12.020 of Chapter 17.12 (Zoning Map) of
the Municipal Code of the City of Bakersfield, be and the same is
hereby amended by extending the boundaries of said map to include
certain property in a C-2 (Con~nercial) Zone, upon the annexation
of said property to the City of Bakersfield, the boundaries of
which property are shown on the map hereto attached and made a
part of this ordinance, and are more specifically described as
follows:
To zone upon annexation to the City of Bakersfield as C-2 (Commercial),
or more restrictive, Zone that certain property in the County of
Kern located westerly of the right-of-way line of the Asphalto
Branch of the Southern Pacific Company, northerly - not to exceed
600 feet, more or less, of the center line of White Lane, and
easterly of the east right-of-way line of Wible Road, being more
particularly described as follows:
Beginning at a point of intersection of the western right-of-way
line of said Asphalto Branch R. R. and the East-West Center-Section
Line of Section 13, the same being the centerline of White Lane,
T. 30 S., R. 27 E., M. D. M., as shown on the "~rn County Sales
Map No. 1 of Lands of J. B. Haggin," filed for Record May 3, 1889,
in the Office of the ~ecorder of Kern County; thence westerly alon~
said center-section line to its point of intersection with t~e -
prolongation of the east right-of-way line of Wible Road; thence
northerly 434.28 feet, more or less; thence easterly 417.69 feet,
more or less, to a point of intersection with the western right-of-
way of U. S. 99, Bakersfield By-Pass; thence northerly along said
right-of-way line to intersect the north boundary of Lot 10 of said
Section 13; thence easterly alonE said north' boundary of Lot 10
to the westerly boundary of Tract No. 2263 as shown on' the "Altered
Map of Tract Noo 2263," recorded October 8, 1962, in Book 13, of
Maps at Pages 57 and 58 in the Office of said County Recorder;
thence southerly along said westerly boundary to the northwest
corner of "Parcel C of said Altered Map"; thence N. 89° 57' 19" Eo,
359.297 feet; thence N. 00° 02' 41" W. 2.076 feet to the northwest
corner of "Parcel B of said Altered Map"; thence S. 89° 55' 40" E~
471.487 feet to the west right-of-way line of curved E1 Potrero
Lane; thence southerly along said curved right-of-way line 93.059
feet; thence S. 89° 56' 50" E., 60 feet to a point on the eastern
right-of-way line of E1 Potrero Lane; thence Northerly along the
said curved right-of-way line 6.081 feet to the northwest corner
of "Parcel A of said Altered Map of Tract No. 2263"; thence S. 89°
41' 16" E. 200 feet; thence easterly, parallel to the southerly
boundary of the northwest quarter of said Section 13 to a point on
t~he western boundary of Lot 13 of Section 13; thence northerly
along the western boundary of Lot 13 to the northern boundary of
the south half of Lot 13; thence easterly along the northerly
boundaries of Lots 13 and 14 and their prolongation to a point on
the westerly right-of-way line of said Asphalto Branch; thence
southwesterly along said right-of-way to the point of beginningj
and northerly of the north right-of-way line of said Asphalto Branch
with exceptions, being more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the north line of Lot 16, Section
13, T. 30 S., R. 27 E., M.D.M., recorded as previously described,
and the westerly right-of-way line of said Asphalto Branch; thence
easterly along said north line to the west right-.of-way line of
South "H" Street; thence southerly to the south rzght-o~-way line
of White Lane; thence westerly along said right-of-way line to
the west right-of-way line to the west right-of-way line of said
Asphalto Branch; thence northeasterly along said west right-of-
way line to the point of beginning; and beginning at a point at
the intersection of the east-west center-section line of said
St.ection 13 and the weste.rly right-of-way line of said Asphalto;
hence westerly along sazd center-section line 158.59 feet; thence
S. 44° 18' W. to the southwest corner of a parcel of land deeded
to the S & F Cotton Company recorded July 30, 1953, in Book 2111
a poxnt on the northwesterly right-
of-way of said Asphalto Branch; thence southwesterly alonE said
right-of-way 36.80 feet; thence N. 45° 37' W. 166 feet; thence
S. 44° 23' W. 480 feet; thence S. 45° 37' E. 164 feet to a point
on the northwesterly right-of-way line of said Asphalto Branch;
thence southwesterly along said right-of-way to a point of inter-
section of the west line right-of-way of the Bakersfield By-Pass{
thence northerly along said right-of-way to a point of intersection
with the south boundary line of Lot 23 of said Section 13; thence
westerly alonE said south boundary to a point of intersection with
t.he. east_ right-of-wa.y of Wible Road; thence northerly alon~ said
rzgnt-of-way to a point of intersection with the cen%er-li~e of
White Lan~; thence easterly to the point of last beginning.
SECTION 2.
That Section 17.12.020 of Chapter 17.12 (Zoning Map) of
the Municipal Code of the City of Bakersfield, be and the same is
hereby amended by extending the boundaries of said map to include
certain property in an M-1 (Light Manufacturin~, or more
restrictive, Zone, upon the annexation of said property to the
City of Bakersfield, the boundaries of which property are shown on
the map hereto attached and made a part of this ordinance, and are
more specifically described as follows:
To zone upon annexation to the City of Bakersfield as M-1 (Light
Manufacturin~, or more restrictive, Zone those properties in the
County of Kern easterly of the western right-of-way line of
Asphalto Branch of the Southern Pacific Company, southerly of Lot
15, Section 13, westerly o.f South '~H" Street and northerly of
White Lane; and southerly of White Lane easterly of Wible Road, and
westerly of the west right-of-way line of the Bakersfield By-Pass.
SECTION 3.
This ordinance shall become effective upon the
annexation of the above-described territory to the City of Bakers-
fie id.
