AN ORDINANCE APPROVING ANNEXATION OF A PARCEL OF
UNINHABITED TEP/tITORY TO THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD~
CALIFORNIA, DESXS'"IqA~ AS "O~L NO. ~," AND
PROVXDXNG FOR. THE TAXATXON OF SAXD TERRTTORY TO
lAY THE BONDED INDEBTEDNESS OF SAID CITY.
WHEREAS, a petition was filed with the Council- of the
City of Bakersfield on the 23rd day of September, 1963, requesting
that certain unln~abited territory therein described be annexed
to and incorporated w~hin ~he City' of Bakersfield, and
WHEREAS, said petition was signed by the o~ners of one-
fourth of the land, by area, and by assessed value as sho~. on the
last equalized assessment roll of the County of Kern, and
WHEREAS, the territory described in said petition is
contl~uous territory to be annexed, and
WHEREAS, the said territory does not form a part of
any other city, and
WHEREAS, prior to the date hereof there has been filed
in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Bakersfield, a
written consent~ si~ned by the owners of more than ~w~-thirds of
the value of the territory, that said terr-~tory be subjected to
taxerS, on after the completion of such annexation equally w~th
property in the City of Bakersfield to pay the bonded indebtedness
of said City therein described, as provided for in Ordinance
893, New' Series, in Ordinance No° 950, New Series, in Ordinance
No. 1112, New Series, and in Ordinance No. 1229, New Series, all
of the City of Bakersfield, and any and all other indebtedness or
liability of ~he City outstandins or authorized on and after the
date of completion of said annexation, and this Council hereby
~eterm~n~s that sa~'d consent is' signed by t~e' o~ners of' 'm0~ than
~eo-t~t~rds of the value of the territory, and complies in every
respect w~th the prov~sions of Section 35319 of the Government
Code of the State of Californ~a, and
t~HEItEAS. ~he Council of r~e City of Bakersfield did,
on ~he 2$rd day of September, 1963~ pass a Resolution being No,
79-~3~ tn compliance wtt2~ ~he provisions o~ ~he Annexation of
Uninhabited Territory Act of 1939~ and amendments t~ereto~ being
Title 4, Division 2~ Part 2~ Chapter 1, Article $ of the Govern-
merit Code of the State o£ Cali£ornia, specifically describing
the boundaries of the territory so proposed to be annexed to the
City of Bakersfield, and designating such territory by an
appropriate name, and setting Honday, the 4th day of NovembeF, 1963~
at the hour of 8:00 p.m. in 'the Cmmcil Chambers of the City Ha11~
1501 ~mxtun Avenue, Bakersfield, California, as the day~ hour
and place when and where the City Council would hear protests made
by any person owning real property w~thin the aforesaid terrttory~
and
~IEP. EAS, said ~esolu~ion was published at least twice,
but not oftener than once a ~eek in ~he Bakersfield Californian=
a newspaper of Eeneral circulation published in the City of
Bakersfield, end also in ~he Otldale News, a newspaper of ge.-aeral
circulation published outside of the City of Bakersfield, but
in the county where said territory is located, said publicat~ons
having been completed at least twenty days prior to the date set
for said hearing, ~n compliance ~th Section 35311 of the
Government Code, and
#HEREAS, the City Clerk of the City of Bakersfield has
caused written not,ce of such proposed annexation to be given
by mat1 at least twenty days before tb~ public hearing on sa'~d

HO~, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the
City of Bakersfield, as follows:
SECTION 1.
That the City Council of the City. of Bakersf[eld hereby
approves the annexation to and inclusion w~thin the incorporated
l~u~Lts of the City of Bakersfield, of that certain uninhabited
territory designated as "OSk-ELL NO. 4"; and it is hereby further
ordained that said territory be and the same is hereby annexed to
said City; that said territory is described as follows:
A parcel of land situate in the County of Kern, State of California,
and being a port~on of the northeast qua.fret of Section 22~
Township 29 South, Ranse 28 East,
Comm~cing at the northeast corner of said Section 22, thence
southerly alon~ the easterly boundary of said Section 22 to
intersect a l~ue parallel ~Lth and distant 55 feet southerly as
measured perpendicular to the northerly boundary of said Section
22, said point of ~nterseetion being a point on the current
corporate boundary of the City of Bakersfield as de£ined by
Ordinance No° 1452, New Sez~es, and also being ~he true point o£
beKLnning;
THENCE (1) con~lnu~n~ southerly alor~ the easterly boundary of
said Section 22 to the southeast corner of the
half of the northeast quarter of the northeast
of said Section 22;
THENCE (2) westerly along the southerly boundary of said
half of the northeast quarter of the northeast
quarter to a point in a l~ne parallel ~'~th and
distant 328.62 feet easterly, as measured at risht
an~las to the westerly boundary of the northeast
quarter of said Section 22;
THENCE (3) northerly along last named parallel ll~.e to intersec~
a line parallel w~th and ~Lstant 55 feet southerly
measured perpendicular to the northerly boundary of
said Section 22, said point of intersection being a
point on the current corporate boundary;
