AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE SEVENTEEN OF THE
MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD BY
CHANGING THE LAND USE ZONING OF THOSE CERTAIN
PROPERTIES IN THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD LOCATED
AT THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF COLUMBUS AND
OSWELL STREETS.
WHEREAS, in accordance with the procedure set forth in
the provisions of Title 17 of the Municipal Code of the City of
Bakersfield, the Planning Co~-~ission and City Council have held
hearings respectively, on a motion of the Planning CoL-,-~ssion to
change the land use zoning of those certain properties in the City
of Bakersfield located at the northeast corner of Columbus and
Oswell streets~' and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined after due
consideration of said motion and the reco...~..~-ndations of the
Planning Co~nission herein on file, together with the reasons
advanced at the hearings for a change of zoning of said property,
that said zoning change should be authorized.
NOW, THEREFORE~ BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City
of Bakersfield, as follows:
SECTION 1.
That Section 17.12.020 (Zoning Map) of the Municipal Code
of the City of Bakersfield, be and the s-~,e is hereby amended by
changing the land use zoning of certain properties in said City,
the boundaries of which properties are shown on the map hereto
attached and made a part hereof, as follows:
Changing the zoning boundaries from a C-2-D (Commercial --
Architectural Design) Zone to an R-4-D (Multiple-Family
Dwelling -- Architectural Design) Zone of those certain
properties located at the Northeast Corner of Columbus
and Oswell Streets, being more particularly described as
follows:
That portion in the City of Bakersfield located westerly
of the east line of Section 15, To 29 S., R. 28 E., and
lying southerly of the intersection of Darwin Avenue with
the N. E. - S. W. ali~nment of Oswell Streets and both
northeasterly and southeasterly of the intersection of
Columbus and Pepperdine Streets as described in Deed
Opening portion of Columbus Street recorded in Book 3362,
Page 388 of the Official Records of the County Recorder
of the County of Kern.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was
passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Bakersfield at a.
regular meeting thereof held on the 30th day of September, 1963,
by the following vote:
Council of the City of Bakersfield.
