AN ORDINANCE APPROVING ANNEXATIO'~ OF A PARCEL OF
UNINHABTTED TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF BAKERSFIELD,
CALIFORHIA, DESIGNATED AS UBRUNDAGE NO. 1", AND
PROVIDING FOR THE TAXATION OF SAID TERRIT~ORY TO
PAY THE BONDED INDEBTEDNESS OF SAID CITY.
~HERKAS, a petition was filed w~th ~he Council of the
City of Bakersfield on 2he 14~h day of Hay, 196~, requestin~ ~hat
certain uninhabi~ed territory therein described be annexed to and
Incorporated within the City of Bakersfield, and
MHE~S, said petition was 8i~ned by ~he ow~rs of one-
fourth of f~e land, by area, and by assessed value as shown on the
last equalized assessment roll of the County of. Barn, and
b~EREAS, the ~errttory described in said petition is
conti~uous territory to be annexed, and
MHERFAS, ~he said ~erritory does not form a part of any
o~her city, and
~IERF~S, prior to ~he da~e hereof there has been filed
in ~he office of tB2 City Clerk of ~e Cl~y of Bakersfield, a
wr~t~n consent, stoned by ~e owners of more than ~wo-~hirds of
the value of the ~erri~ory, ~hat said ~erritory be subjected to
~axa~Lon a£~er ~he completion of such annexation equally w~h the
property in ~e City of Bakersfield to pay the bonded indeb~edness
of said City ~here~u described, as provided for in Ordinance No.
893, New Series, ~n 0rd~nnanee No. 950, New Ser~es, in Ordinance No.
1112, New Series, and in Ordinance No. 1229, New Series, all of the
City of Bakersfield, and any and all o~her ~adebtednes8 or l~ability
of tb~ City outstanding or au~horized on and after ~he da~e of
completion of said annexation, and this Council hereby de,ermines

~he provisions of Sect~m 35319 of the Government Code of the
Sta~e of California, and
~HEREAS, the Council of-the City of Bakersfield d~d, on
the 18th day of Hay, 1964, pass a Resolution being No. 31-64, in
compliance with the provisions of the Annexation of Uninhabited
Territory Act oE 1939, and amendments thereto, being Title ~,
Divtsion 2, Part 2, Chapter l, Article 5 of the Government Code of
the State of California, specifically describing the boundaries of
the territory so proposed to be anneF~d to the City of Bakersfield,
and desi~nating such territory by an appropriate name, and setting
Honday, the 6th day of July, 1964, at the hour of eight o'clock
P.M. in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, 1501 Truxtun Avenue,
Bakersfield, California, as the day, hour and place when and where
the City Council would hear protests made by any person owning
real property w~thin the aforesaid territory, and
k~EREAS, said Resolution was published at least twice,
but not oftener than once a week in The Bakersfield Californ~an,
a newspaper of general circulation published in the City of
Bakersfield, and also in The Oildale News, a newspaper of. seneral
circulation published outside of the City of Bakersfield, but in
the county where said territory is located, said publications
having been completed at least twenty days prior to the date set
for said hearing, in compliance w~th Section 3§311 of the
Government Code, and
k~IEREAS, the City Clerk of the City of Bakersfield has
caused written notice of such proposed annexation to he ~Lven by
mail at least twenty days before the public hearing on said
proposed annexation to the persons entitled thereto, in compliance
with sub~Lvisions (a) and (b) of Section 35311 of said Government
Code, and
~q~EREAS, at the time set for hearing protests, no
written protests were filed a~ainst the proposed annexation by
any owner of property within the territory proposed to be annexed.
NO~, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINKD by ~ Council of the City
of Bakersfield, as follows:
S~.CTION l.
That ~he City Council of the City of Bakersfield hereby
approves the annexa~Lon to and inclusion within the incorporated
limits of the City of Bakersfield, of ~hat certain uninhabi~ed
~erritory designated as "BRUND~E NO. 1"; and it is hereby further
ordained ~hat said ~erritory be and the same is hereby annealed to
said City; ~hat said territory is described as follows:
A parcel of land situate in the County of Kern, State of California,
and being a portion of Sec~Lon 36, Township 29 South, Range 27
East, N.D.N., and Section l, Tovnship 30 Sou~h, Range 27 East,
N,D.N,;
Beginning at the southwest corner of Lot 13, Block 10, of the Goods
Tract as said lot is shown on the Nap of ~b~ "Goods Tract" recorded
Nay 2, 1910, in Book 1 of Naps at page 1~ in ~e office of
County Recorder o£ said Kern Cottony, the sou~h line of said Lot 13
being ~he northerly Boundary line of Bellevue Road, also knows as
arundage Lane, of 60 feet in width;
